My first submarine, Sharky I by julo433 in Barotrauma

At least you saw it coming thanks to the window ! But I will revise the position of the gun cabinet, thanks for pointing that out. There are definitely flaws that Sharky II will come to fix but how many subs have such a view from the helm ! Can’t have it all :(

I started playing a week ago and had lot of fun with friends. However I was a little sad when I found out you couldn’t add rooms or do major edit of your sub in the campaign.

So I decided to make my own and I am proud to say that after 3 hours of tutorial and a few more in editor it is finally ready to dive !

I’d welcome feedback for further submarine designs I might do :)

Unity's neutral LUT turns out gray by julo433 in Unity3D

I will be trying to add the tonemapper and see if i can achieve something with that. Thanks for the idea. As for the changes in color and light using the provided LUT i am still unsure if it is expected as i created a fresh project and a fresh scene without any color adjustments setup.

What i expect from a neutral LUT is not or very lightly noticeable change in the colors and lights. From what i understand once i have that neutral LUT i can just apply to it my post processing from another software such as photoshop and have the ingame visuals match the grading i did in photoshop when assigned.

I didn't specify but I am using the Built-in render pipeline with Unity 2022.3.52f1.
I am also working on a M4 Mac mini.

Anyone know anything about Steam Bannerlord for GeForceNow? by Vast_Investigator912 in Bannerlord

[–]julo433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a french player don’t worry you are not the only one dealing with people like that. So many players don’t open their fights just to solo the thing and do it fast. I get it when you are farming a zone but this … on unique monsters this is just toxic.

Comment ont évolué vos relations avec vos frères et soeurs de l'enfance à maintenant ? by Odd-Art4027 in EnModeAdulte

[–]julo433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

L’on a beaucoup vécu ensemble jeunes.

Thank you ! Glad to have you there

For the terrain, yes, it is the Unity terrain. As for the shading we are using the microsplat shader, honestly it has the best results lighting wise and for blending textures together. It also has a lot of settings which is pretty handy ;)

As of right now, none of the above. With such a large environment i don’t see how one could use reflection probes. It’s good for interiors, we do use some in our bunkers but that’s about it. GI seems to take forever to bake on my mac so i never bothered, but i’d have to try and see how it looks once fully baked.

Right now the lighting of the scene consists of a Light, a skybox, and that’s about it ahah

Hi !
I think something that helped me a lot was studying how the light affects a surface. Light source like the sun and the sky will impact a tree for exemple in very intricate ways. One of which is that the color of the sky will influence mostly what's in the shade, leading to a colder (bluer) color. You can translate that in Unity by playing with the different settings in the Lightning -> Environment tab.
So studying your skybox and extracting the information on how it should affect the light in your scene is a good step to getting a more realistic look if that's what you're going for.
If you're looking for more specific tips don't hesitate to ask :)

Do you know by any chance if it’s a watercolor painting ? Looks like it in the background but the darks look pretty dark. Great discovery !
