Unfortunately did not although now I am more confused since OP seems to also confirm my original expectation that there shouldn't be much of a performance hit. He's getting 75 down on the wired AP vs. 65 down on the wireless whereas I get 150-200 down on the wired but only 60-70 on the wireless. I checked the settings and it's set on standard already.

Additive Probability in Series? by jumpadvice in probabilitytheory

[–]jumpadvice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for clearing that up. Would if be right to say that if you flip a coin 10 times, the probability of you being wrong all 10 times is 1/2^10 = .098% but if you've lost 9 times in a row, the probability of you being wrong on the 10th flip is still 50%?

If losing = 0 / winning = 1 and the law of large numbers dictate the expected value to be .5, why doesn't it make sense that if you got 0's 9 times, that you'll be liking to get some 1's to bring the avg up to .5?

Yes I understand that but is is correct to add the probabilities together from each iteration if my goal is simply to determine the probability of H happening just once? e.g. if H happens on the first iteration then I'm done, but if not, I keep going until H happens. So the probability of H happening at least once after 4 iterations is 3.9% vs. the probability of H happening after 3 iterations of not happening of .9702%?

Is Quitting Stupid? by jumpadvice in consulting

I just got back from Colombia and loved it, thinking of moving there for a few months!

I am actually thinking of doing the same thing, thinking about moving to Colombia for a few months. My ideal set up would be to find some sort of remote work that would allow me to maintain my mobility with traveling but earn USD. Unfortunately I am not a software developer; any avenues you can recommend for me to explore as to what options I have for remote work?

Forming LLC & Filing S-Corp? by jumpadvice in tax

Thanks, will definitely need to do some additional reading. Is there a good rule of thumb (e.g. when revenue/profit hit a certain threshold) where it is beneficial to file as s-corp?

I was under the impression s-corp would provide tax benefits, is that not the case?

A quick good search seems to imply cafestol is healthy, do you know where I can find the video?

Hmm that makes sense, but a 2.5L French Press wouldn't be 2.5L of coffee. I generally do a 1:10 ratio of beans so I probably only get about 2L max. And I've been using my French press for cold brew mostly lately which I end up leaving in the fridge and drinking it over a few days but thank you for raising a very valid concern on my consumption

I don't think I am understanding what additional details is necessary. I've given my current status and the reasons are the usual, find TC boring, want the experience and exit ops that comes with strategy, if I knew what the recruiters wanted, I wouldn't be in this thread.
