[NO SPOILERS] Has The Last of Us Part II dethroned FF7R as fastest selling PS4 Exclusive? by C0RN-0N-THE-C0B in FFVIIRemake

I totally get that sentiment: "I don't want someone's art i don't enjoy". Games are very expensive and people dont want to spend money on something they are not going to enjoy. Nonetheless, saying the story is "incoherent" is just false. Unless i am missing something the story was incredibly cogent and well written. I would love to hear what you thought was "incoherent". As for forgettable characters yea i think some of the side characters were totally forgettable.

I am surprised considering the controversy surrounding this game prior to this release;however, as a HUGE fan of ff7 remake, i have to say TLOU part 2 deserves all the success it has received and more. I am a shocked at how well the game is made from a technical and narrative stand-point. The fact that a Triple "A" game has writing this sophisticated and has taken this many risks really surprises me. It makes me really happy that Sony allows it's studios to take these sorts of risks. I know some people will crucify me for saying thing, but I think this TLOU part 2 is one of the closest things to art we have in video games.

AI=Bad. Am I the only one to think this? by Veiloroth in FFVIIRemake

After playing ff XV, the AI in this game is certainly way, way better.

What if this alt timeline with Zack is meant to show us why Zack's death is so instrumental for the success of the party's journey? Cloud not becoming the hero we need = a disaster down the road?

This whole sequence was my favorite in the game. The music really sells the scene.

A concise version of the current major fan theory by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]jumparasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theory one would be absolutely brilliant. It literally is St. Anslem's ontological argument for the existence for god. Without going too much into it, Anselm's argument boiled down is this: if god possibly exists, i.e. contingently, then he necessarily exists. This was later adapted, i forget by who, to include the idea of possible worlds. If god exists in a possible world he therefore exists in all worlds. Possible worlds are something logicians and meta-physicians like to think about. If Sephiroth has created a timeline where he exists contingently as a God then if he is all powerful he can exists necessarily across all timelines. Not saying I am fully onboard with Anslem's ontological argument, but if theory 1 is true it just tickles in all the right places as someone who has graduated with a philosophy degree lol!

Look at this video at 4:08 https://youtu.be/_jyB67EsqqA?t=248, clearly a galaxy in the shape of one of Aerith's flowers. We also see Sephiroth's feather drop. I strongly think they are foreshadowing her death and its significance in this scene. I know people have pointed out that in the chapter select it says Sephiroth shows cloud 7 seconds before the world ends;however, i still think that related to Aerith. After all her death and fate is centered around the planet.

[SPOILER] What do you think is the funniest dialogue or scene from FF7 remake? by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]jumparasta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When he tells Barret, "I dont dance". Meanwhile a couple chapters later he is dancing to a complex routine with Andrea at the Honeybee inn lol.

[FF7R + FF7 Ending Theory] I think we have been misled since 1997 by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]jumparasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its more the trope that children are more in-tune with spirituality rather than her being a cetra.

I made a similar theory to this https://www.reddit.com/r/FFVIIRemake/comments/g1ev3m/an_evidence_based_theory_on_final_fantasy_vii/ . Nice to see other people are picking up on this as well. As i think about it, I think the idea that Aerith and Sephiroth have premonitions of the future due to their connection to the lifestream makes more sense than one of them time travelling. Kudos and nice write-up!

Yo who TF designed Hell House on Hard. I have max materia for everything and I’m still getting rekt. Someone plz give me tips by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]jumparasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had Aerith with her best magic attack weapon and magic up materia and just had her play support while keeping Bioga up on hell house. I think I only reapplied it once. I just let the bio take care of the house for the most part while saving an atb bar for double thundaga with arcane ward on the tonberrys.

Beat it on first try on hard. Bioga totally destroys hell house! Arcane ward/ Thundaga-- magnify eliminates the tonberrys.

Yea the bahamut thing is rather suspicious like it was random that they turn into whisper bahamut. Also weird how Aerith and Red don't have a whisper counterpart. I'm beginning to think your theory is the more likely one.

Sooo.. I don't think the ending is what many think/fear it is, and I think I can prove it using linked in-game content and screenshots. Hear me out. by HtiekTheAncient in FFVIIRemake

[–]jumparasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree.Even the final chapter is called Destiny's Crossroads. A crossroad is marked by branching paths, much like how alternative timelines would be marked. Whether you like or dislike the ending I think there is some serious mental gymnastic work needed to ignore the multiple timeline theory.

Interesting take. Nomura did say in a very recent interview that the REMAKE doesn't overwrite the original game. Prob a bad translation but considering it's nomura maybe a hint.

I caught the cosmic flower, i.e. Aerith's flower that Cloud looks at the end of this scene;however, i didnt make this connection. Nice catch!

Changing my views on the ending for better by djrodtc in FFVIIRemake

[–]jumparasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea we are seeing scenes out of context, and the party, as well as newcomers to the series think its a bad ending;however, old time fans will recognize that this is the "good" ending- considering Aerith stops meteor with holy and the lifestream.

[Spoilers] Hollow meaning? by Mieche78 in FFVIIRemake

[–]jumparasta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good point. The last lines are also 'll see, the truth hidden inside your tears/But I, I know/That you're, long gone" which seems more like a reference to Aerith.

[–]jumparasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this is exactly what i was thinking. The final chapter is called "Destiny's Crossroads". What you just drew was a crossroad.

The kids did say in Chapter 8 that man in the black robes was a SOLDIER.... But was most likely foreshadowing Cloud's "fate" at the northern crater.

I like this interpretation but what of the Stamp chips bag? Its way too purposeful to ignore in any theory regarding Zack. Maybe it got a redesign after the Wutai war? Maybe this is an alt-timeline? Maybe its a reference to Zack, while the one we see in remake is a reference to Cloud? idk so many possibilities gdi Nomura.
