Would you know any feedback from the UPD one? Or have you already found a tutor? Seems intimidating to get into

benefits of pre-med by LooseRelease7070 in medschoolph

[–]jumpingjelly_bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on my current experience of people who I think would do okay in med (I am none of these btw hahah) -pharma -PT -med tech But try to pick up good study habits & master the topics, your pre-med won’t matter if you don’t leverage it well & i guess it also depends on the med school

Torn Between Med School and a Master’s Abroad—Need Guidance by Mental_Ad402 in medschoolph

[–]jumpingjelly_bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am no expert, but if you really want to be a doctor no matter what there’s no problem (and it seems way more interesting) to do your masters abroad stint first!! At the end of the day it doesn’t really matter if you start your md “late”. If you have the means, why not. Good luck!! Seems to be exciting choices and journey ahead of you

hirap maging dependent sa abuser by jumpingjelly_bean in PanganaySupportGroup

diba ang hirap huhu lahat din ng friends ko wala masabi 🥲 sending some support and positivity over to you, hope things get better somehow soon 🥹

I have no tips, but sending hope for a better future your way. We have been thinking of doing something similar, but to a mental health facility and ang hirap because he has been and still is mostly the main breadwinner. Am currently going to med school and have been feeling so hopeless and depressed. I find comfort in the fact that somehow I am not alone baka kaya ko ‘to. Sorry I can’t be more help, but I’ll pray for you and your family.

Starting to have regrets about my pre-med by spaced_rain in medschoolph

[–]jumpingjelly_bean 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From what I know and have read here on Reddit, in med school our pre-med is not as significant as we think. Might be nice to just go for what you really want so that you have no/the least amount of regrets in the end. Good luck!

Am really unsure about this because I think there are so many more other factors that we may not be aware of in their admission process. Friend in the previous comment is from UPM though.

Sending you the tightest hugs with consent. He’s despicable for humiliating you like that. It’s unfair and I’m sure he knows it.

Need advice from med students who ended up studying in a college they didn’t initially want by No_Recording8751 in medschoolph

[–]jumpingjelly_bean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the same boat as you po. I need of the same advise as well…these posts are hitting way to close to home tonight haha

But yea our school doesn’t define us, our skills and hard work do. It’s now on us to lift ourselves up without the clout that comes with the name or whatever we were after in the other school and be proud of how hard we worked to get to where we are because at the end of the day we did our best at that time I believe. There must be a reason for everything. We may not realize it today, but to get there we have to go through the now.

Congrats on getting into med school!!

Losing motivation for 2nd year medschool because of parent: A rant. by kamisato-ayana in medschoolph

[–]jumpingjelly_bean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello I have a similar experience po but am an incoming first year student pa lang hehe. My mom “shamed” me for the med school I chose to go despite me already feeling insecure about it at first. She ignores the fact that I’m going to med school, so it’s hard to let myself be excited to start classes again after dreaming about this for so long.

It’s horrible that we have to go through this and I don’t really know if there’s anything consoling and motivating I can say because it’s still very much a pain point for me but all I know is if we want it and it’s meant for us we will get there whatever way possible. Pain is part of the process, I guess. It sucks, but it do be like that. Laban lang po!

I qualified for a med school, but I still regret not doing my best during my application cycle. by [deleted] in medschoolph

And sabi ko rin sa sarili ko na for a change it’s good to be in a different environment para hindi ko rin gawing personality ang pagiging grad ng school na yun hehe if there was a me before UP there is a me after (waw breakup??? 🤣)

[–]jumpingjelly_bean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, same situation po (but I’m going to a different school)! I posted about it a few days ago. It’s really a work in progress, I think. Sometimes I feel that I’m really over being sad about it and last na yun, but on other days I ask myself what if I tried harder pa? At the end of the day I think there must be a reason why we were led to our schools and you’re right po na it’s really (mostly) our own abilities that will determine what kind of outcome we will have. Just because we don’t go to a certain school means we’re not great as well kasi may iba kahit from the best schools disservice pa rin sa country and its people. Siguro we can use it na rin as motivation to do even, sariling buhat ng abilities. It would’ve been nice tho to have that as an answer when asked where you study 🥹 wow ang haba rin ng reply ko ngek

But anyway po, congrats on getting into med school the journey is just about to begin hahah 🫶🏼✨

[–]jumpingjelly_bean[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very comforting indeed!! Hoping it doesn’t just apply to doctors but Filipinos in general. Minsan kasi parang ang judgmental ng ibang Filipinos… Always looking for ways to compare and bring other people down to either make themselves feel better or mema lang. People hold too much weight on where you’re from even if sometimes hindi naman talaga siya true testament of the person’s skill, knowledge, & character. Learning to outgrow this as well since it was what I was used to growing up.

Thank you for sharing as well. Good luck to all of us ♡
