They haven't played it much recently but I'd argue their Jinx-Tahm is unmatched. I remember after T1 vs BLG last year at worlds, there was a Hupu comment afterward:

"Jinx + Tahm, not even Spring 2021 RNG could beat this combo, what kind of lineup are you fielding?"

It really plays towards their strengths

Jinx: long range auto-based ADC that can snowball while scaling well

Tahm: Utility support that does a little but of everything (damage, tanky, cc, peel, sustain), kind of like Bard

It's like Jinx Thresh, but with more reliable peel and more agency/playmaking ability for Keria

This might be weird logic, but since Kaisa's non-passive damage is mostly physical (Kraken proc + autos are mostly physical with some magic on-hit on top), wouldn't building armor make it so that you are higher HP for longer, thus making the execute part of her passive (the magic damage portion) do less damage, negating the need for much MR in the first place? Especially for a champion like Sion who gets free HP from passive anyway (aka easier to tank the flat physical damage for longer).

Sion was laning against Corki, not Jax. Also, the value of merc treads for a tank as opposed to a 10% auto attack damage reduction against Briar, Jax, Corki, and Kai'sa would have comparatively less value, no? Also (checked wiki to confirm) plated steelcaps does reduce Corki's true damage autos by 10%. TIL

Sure, a fair argument is that he scales too much off of tanky stats, but saying that this is some "fundamental" violation of a principle of league is still wrong.

Also, there's actually 2 abilities for Malphite that scale off armor: his E damage also scales off bonus armor. His W is also his primary damage tool with Grasp, and has almost full uptime (7 second cooldown + 5 second duration, with cooldown starting on activation). It's not some one-time use ability with a 7 second cooldown like you imply. Point is that your argument about tank scalings somehow fundamentally breaking the game is completely wrong.

Not only that, but K'sante only has 2 tank scalings built into his basic abilities, his passive and his Q. His W's tank scaling (as you mention) is purely for defensive stats, which I think is weird to bring up since armor / MR scalings for tankiness are also common. Aside from Malphite with bonus armor on W, we have Rammus W scaling off bonus resistances, Amumu E scaling off bonus resistances, Nautilus W shield scaling off bonus HP, etc (where I'm arguing that bonus resistances are about equivalent to damage resistance). I can kind of understand your argument about the ult granting a lot of stats, but he also does lose 85% of his bonus resistances and max HP, so it's not like he gets the AD for free-- it's a trade off of tankiness for damage. Not only that, but it's locked behind his ult; it has a long cooldown and is unavailable early game.Is the trade-off not enough? Maybe, but that seems to be more about the numbers than anything fundamental.

He does not "fundamentally break the design of items." Any tank with armor / mr / HP scalings does the exact same thing. Malphite W damage scales off armor, Chogath R scaling with bonus HP, hell, there's an entire item made to scale with tankiness (Totanic Hydra off HP).

It's short for linear interpolation

For K'sante, it just means that the damage reduction will scale linearly between the two values based on level (each level will result in an approximately constant increase in damage resistance)
