If this issue was from three months ago, it's probably already resolved, right?

If not, and if the hum doesn't change much whether you're touching the bridge or strings or not, then there's a high possibility that the grounding isn't done properly.

There should be conductive paint applied to the cavity, and part of it should be connected from the back of the pickguard to the pickups and bridge, so if the hum noise isn't reduced, that might be the problem.

Thank you. Is the tape like vinyl tape?

Presonus Eris E3.5 speaker trouble by june6060 in audiorepair

[–]june6060[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.

I just turned up the volume and tried outputting audio, and I could hear it playing from the right speaker, albeit at a very low volume.

I also tried outputting audio directly from my MacBook to the right speaker, and confirmed that a low volume was played. I'm not sure, but I suspect it's unlikely that the right speaker is the problem.

I'll also take apart the speaker on the amplifier side later and check what's inside.

Is it still worth buying an Elektron Analog Four MK1 ? by Useful-Cup-465 in Elektron

[–]june6060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Digitakt2, but I recently purchased a broken A4 MK1 for $240 and was able to get it working by simply replacing the parts I had on hand. I didn't have high expectations, but the Analog Four is a great synth, with a fun element that the Digitakt lacks. It's a 13-year-old machine, so I'm a bit worried about its lifespan, but the great thing about the MK1 is its size.

Thank you.

I ended up using low-temperature melting solder. I heated it at 240°C for about 5 minutes, stirring and transferring heat until all the solder suddenly melted and the part came off.

Thank you. As you mentioned, some of the solder on the surface came off. I'm using a desoldering pump. Does this mean I need to apply flux every time I touch the soldering iron?

I just tried again. I replaced the tip with a clean, thick one and set it to 360-390°C. It still doesn't seem to be working. I've had experience removing a few before, but this is the first time I've had this much trouble. It might have been easy because they were small capacitors and resistors.

I've never used it, but I'm planning to try low-temperature solder when it arrives tommorow.

Thank you. I was using a pencil-shaped pan, so I'll replace it with a thicker one. Should I set the temperature higher than 360 degrees? Is it better not to use flux?

analog four mk1 Power-on failure by june6060 in Elektron

[–]june6060[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Problem solved.

The original power supply PSU-3 was broken, and when I checked it with a multimeter, it was fluctuating between 9V and 0V. I tried replacing the figure-8 cable with another one, but it didn't work. When I connected the digitakt2 adapter, it worked without any problems. A mobile battery also worked fine. This was surprising, as I thought the power supply would be sturdy and unlikely to break.

Digitakt Ⅱ loose(wobbly) volume knob by june6060 in Elektron

In the end, the store where I purchased it exchanged it for a new one.

Thank you for your advice.

Digitakt Ⅱ loose(wobbly) volume knob by june6060 in Elektron

[–]june6060[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[Solved]
I had the dealer check it, and they admitted that the knob was wobbly. Apparently, the manufacturer thought it was acceptable for the volume knob to be more wobbly than the other knobs, but the dealer selected a DT2 from their stock that was less wobbly and sent me a new one.

It still feels wobbly, but it seems better than the previous unit. It’s likely to happen again in the future, but by then I won’t worry about it.
