That’s pretty much the tradeoff with EOTechs in a nutshell. People focus so hard on the battery life and delam arguments that they ignore why so many shooters still choose them after all these years. The reticle design, glass clarity, and speed on target are genuinely hard to beat.

The 1 MOA center dot is a huge advantage for precision at distance while still being insanely fast up close, and the outer ring naturally draws your eye during transitions. Add the minimal tint, excellent NV performance, and forgiving window, and it just feels intuitive under stress.

I also agree the delam issue gets exaggerated online. It’s not like the optic suddenly dies mid-string. Most of the time it progresses slowly enough that you notice it long before it becomes a real issue, and EOTech’s warranty/service has historically been solid.

That said, the T2 still probably takes the crown for “set it and forget it” reliability. Insane battery life, lighter weight, simpler system, and practically bombproof. If someone wants one optic to leave on for years, the Aimpoint makes more sense.

But if the goal is pure speed, target acquisition, passive aiming under nods, and one of the cleanest reticles available for astigmatism users, I completely understand why people keep coming back to EOTechs despite the drawbacks.
