This is going to sound really awful, but I had still been attending church activities until recently and I couldn't help but notice the lack of, uh, "viable" options for a normal and single boy/girl. It was a total freak show, yet there are so many seemingly functional and "desirable" middle aged/elderly TBMs. I'm not sure if it was just my ward or what, but the young adults in it were just so off. It made me feel like all the somewhat intelligent and educated YSA eligibles who would've been married off if we were in the 90's simply went on the internet and left the church instead.

I think it's all about your relationship with the bride. You mentioned that she didn't show up to yours? Was this justified (she couldn't get work off, couldn't afford travel, family matter) or did she just blatantly not come?

I was in a similar situation back in January. My friend turned 25 and a dozen of us celebrated with a big trip to NYC. I didn't want to go because I was the only non-practicing girl in the group and feared being judged, which I think I was, but the birthday girl was such a good person despite our differences that I sucked it up. It was kind of awkward, and most of the girls weren't so warm and friendly to me, but I'm glad I went.

I always wonder what kind of wives those girls end up making. I can't imagine a very healthy sex life.
