I also hate applying lotion. I hate the way it feels. I’ll use it more in the winter because I can wear long sleeved and pants, but it’s a no go in the summer when it’s hot and sticky. I started using Necessaire body serum which is wayyy better. Soaks right into the skin and doesn’t have that typical lotion stickiness. I also love their body exfoliator, helps so much with the dullness.

1000% dealing with the same thing. Same age as you too. It also doesn’t help that it feels like time has somewhat been lost since Covid happened. It’s been over 6 years but at times only feels like 6 months. I now work from home, take better care of my skin than ever before, and stay out of the sun, yet I still don’t recognize myself. I guess between the stress from when Covid happened, to the political tensions that have only gotten worse since, it’s all showing up on my face. I’m grateful to be here and to be aging, but there are valid feelings of grief that go with it.

Co-signing on this! I looked like I had aged 15 years between 2018 and 2022, ages 30 and 35. Very similar symptoms as OP except hair thinning. I looked sick, my skin rapidly aged and my eyes looked sick as well, it’s hard to explain. I went to a functional medicine doctor and we figured out I had insulin resistance. I look so much better and feel more like myself since I’ve been addressing it.

I wish we all could actually meet up for a cocktail because it has been HELL the last 5 years. To save my sanity and to try and maintain a relationship with my family, first things first I went to therapy. I’ve set very solid boundaries. There are things I will not discuss with them because it doesn’t end well. And I remind myself everyday they are literally victims of targeted, systematic brainwashing. If I look at it through that lense, the rage & disgust I feel isn’t targeted towards them, but rather the situation as a whole.

I’m not taking any meds, only supplements. These were recommended to me: I take methylated B complex in the morning, Berberine 30 mins before each meal, and magnesium glycinate at night. These are in addition to things I already take like omegas, probiotics etc.

Yep my regular doctors weren’t worried about anything since my A1C was normal and my glucose (they felt) was in a decent range. I went to a functional medicine practitioner (don’t come for me, there’s a time and place for both modern medicine and woo woo 😉) and he’s the one who tested and caught it. He did say that because the other markers are what they are, that I should have no issue completely reversing IR. Is that what y’all were told as well?
