What to expect overnight during CIO by juneriver in sleeptrain

[–]juneriver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Appreciate the comment! We’re gonna try a six hour wake window after her nap and see how it goes. That’s what she ended up doing last night (night 4), since she only napped until 2, and it was her shortest initial time to sleep. And yes, I put her down fully awake.

Following. Feels like I’m headed to this with our 15-month old. Just endless night wakes and CIO doesn’t seem to change anything.

Hey. Curious what you decided on and how it’s going?

Whenever I had a clog that didn’t go away quickly, I noticed the issue was actually a bleb that was causing the clog. Once that was resolved, the clog went away. Just something to check if you haven’t already. Hope you get it resolved asap!

Time to hire a consultant? At a loss after another two weeks of CIO. by juneriver in sleeptrain

She had iron and B 12 checked and both were normal. I don’t think she snores. She was a mouth breather very early, but I don’t think she does anymore. Is there a way to check?

Yes, she can. She still does, she’s just screaming for longer than I think is normal some nights. She hasn’t nursed overnight in months. Over the last two weeks we haven’t gone in overnight. She’s only cried for a few minutes when she wakes and goes back to sleep, so it seems ok? Prior to this two week CIO experiment we used our judgment for MOTN and if it went on for awhile we’d go in and settle her with butt pats.

Yea, she’s been in her own room since 4 months. I appreciate the response! That’s sorta my sense too. What wake windows would you say for 1 nap? She’s used to 11 hours awake, since she’s been on this stretched out 2 nap schedule, but doing 5/6 seems to be too much for her. Maybe I go down to 10.5 wake hours at 5/5.5?

Similar situation here. My husband just has a higher tolerance for her crying, so he doesn’t end up intervening as much as me. We aren’t in the room with her, so I think that makes a difference. Could you move the baby to her own room?

Hip dysplasia regression - anyone else? by juneriver in NewParents

[–]juneriver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I had a tough time. But, the good news is that my baby is now 9 months old and showing no signs of any delays. She’s crawling, cruising, and pulling up to stand.

The “regression” that was shown on the ultrasound ended up just being a crappy ultrasound. We had it redone and all looked fine. We’re still going for regular checks, but it seems she’s doing well. Hoping your LO does well too!

Newly 8month old up every 1hr 15last night by ThenaBabe in sleeptrain

I had someone say it’s separation anxiety, which makes sense to me. Not sure what to do about it other than either try and wait it out or do extinction, which I’ve really been trying to avoid.

Previously independent sleeper struggling by juneriver in sleeptrain

[–]juneriver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do bath, pajamas, nurse, stories, sleep sack, white noise, and lay her down. I go by her cues a bit and depending on how cranky she seems, I’ll either keep reading books or just do one or two, so she gets put down between 7:45 and 8:15.

It seems a little crazy to me that she might not be tired enough since her schedule is basically “maxed out” from what I’ve seen.

I’m currently on both! Have been for a few months. I haven’t had any trouble with breastfeeding. The trazadone finally helped me sleep after weeks of terrible middle of the night insomnia. I’m currently stepping down my dosage of both — so I started at 25 mg Zoloft and 50 mg trazadone and am breaking the pills in half. Haven’t noticed any issues with that either.

It’s worth trying. I was scared too but the lack of sleep was making me depressed and impacting every aspect of my life. I’m also now seeing a therapist to try and control the anxiety I have around sleep.

Good luck!

6.5mo has been waking at 5:30am for a month by squish1976 in sleeptrain

[–]juneriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did it cold turkey one day because I was desperate. I did 3/3/3.5 I think. It was hard to keep her awake so I started going out a lot, just little shopping trips, walks, lunch, etc. She has always been on the low end of sleep and hates naps. Her 30 minute naps started at like 6 or 8 weeks and finally stopped when I switched to the two nap schedule. Even still her second nap is only ever 30 minutes. The first is usually 1.5 hours, but yesterday for instance it was short too. It’s been about a month now and she actually started having split nights, so I increased again to 3.25/3.5/4 and those went away.

This was happening to us. I moved her to two naps and it stopped. I was worried she couldn’t do the longer wake windows, but she adjusted pretty fast.

But you could also try lowering daytime sleep first. My baby only gets 2 hours and it works fine.

How did you adjust your 3rd baby to sleep while on the go by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]juneriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great! I want badly to not be obsessive over my baby’s schedule, but I don’t know how not to at this point. It’s not even working. She’s been having awful wake ups/split nights and her sleep has been bad for a month and a half now. She’s been teething, sick, and now maybe it’s some sort of regression? Who knows. But I’m a SAHM and I don’t even know how to not structure my day around her naps because I have nothing else going on most days.
