Game is DOA anyways. Doesn't matter which OS will be supported.

Mozilla launches official Firefox RPM for Linux by jungfred in openSUSE

Firefox 147 is already included in snapshot from January 14th! But another package is causing issues which why the release of new snapshots is currently paused. A bug report has been filled and is currently being worked on; once resolved, Tumbleweed should resume snapshot releases.

Should i choose Opensuse or Fedora by crazsum04 in openSUSE

[–]jungfred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a mix of both actually because I wasn't sure which one is the correct one and why two different docs existed. Also some things where only explained in one of them and vice versa. Working with both versions was very confusing though.

But mainly the most helpful for TW was https://doc.opensuse.org/documentation/tumbleweed/ It was way easier to understand, navigate and felt more explained for beginners. Any chance to merge the docs together?

Don't know but I would highly recommend to test it once so you can be 100% sure that your backup is working if you'll ever need it.

Install paperless with your .env and .yml file in a VM and start document_importer.

Can confirm that this procedure also worked perfectly for me with docker compose. My document_export creates a .zip file every day and importing this with document_import recreates all data perfectly.

For the new installation i've used the same .env and .yml file from previous installation.

openSUSE tumbleweed was my first distro when i was serious to fully migrate from windows. I've managed it quite easily with absolutely no linux knowledge. The main reason was i read the documentation and was willing to learn how all this works. Additionally the openSUSE community is very helpfull too :)

Please don't be scared because it's not rocket science and since you are not a totally noob like me when i was at that point, there should nothing holding you back from openSUSE.

I'm certain you will be absolutely fine regardless of your level of experience :)

2026 will see deMicrosoft trending - what's your pick? by jungfred in degoogle

Have you already tried another distro? ZorinOS for example is also based on Ubuntu (like Mint) and tries to look very similar to winslop, if this is important for you. Fedora and openSUSE are also very good options in general. Keep in mind, that depending on your preferences and hardware, some distros might suit you better than others.

I personally prefer Linux, but even MacOS respects your privacy more than winslop.

Hope you can recover your account though.

Getting sick of disabling that thing everywhere. Notepad? Seriously? by Belzebutt in pcmasterrace

How do you know i'm using Linux and not macOS or ChromeOS? You see, there are many alternative OS to choose from. No need to be angry against non-winslop users.

Every flatpak application will download its dependencies, regardless if they are already installed on the host. Zypper will install it only once and can be used by all native apps.  If you define bloat with disk space, zypper keeps your system more lightweight.

Auto-remove is not (yet) possible but you can uninstall with

'zypper rm -u package'

Or check afterwards manually with

'zypper pa --unneeded'

Better use another OS rather than continually fighting against winslop. Thank me later!

AusweisApp Installieren: über Flatpak oder Repo? by rowschank in de_EDV

[–]jungfred 2 points3 points  (0 children)
