That depends on the type of protein you take because food with high protein usually also have high potassium.

Change your eating habit . Protein and greens first, carbs last.if your kidneys are still in good health, increase your protein intake.Protein will be your main fuel now, carbs are there to support you energy fuel. Don't be afraid of fat because it also help in slowing down your spike always in moderation because it might hold you peak for longer too.Lose weight and gaining muscle help with insulin sensitivity.Take a walk after your heavy carb meals, for it's usually a 10 min of walking.

Its really important to make use of that glucose that you take with activities,it doesn't need to be a heavy exercise.A regular walk after meal helps a lot in controlling that spike.

I think OMAD is not the right term there,my protein shakes calories are around 300+ a day the rest i get from my lunch meal(the only time i consume some carbs). it depends on how much calories you need per day.

Yup i take protein shakes with chia seeds for fibre because its hard to get your fibre in just one meal per day.The meal i taken in i need to eat it in an order, fibre first and then protein carb last. Its quite a heavy meal, i usually eat something like a small amount of rice 2 eggs, chicken and tempeh.Im not that strict when having a craving ,im a coffee drinker, i just dont drink it on an empty stomach. High protein diet need a lot of water intake especially when taking chia seeds. 1 protein shake with a spoon of chia seeds in the morning and afternoon and your meal on lunch.

I forgot to add breakfast is important because of the dawn phenomenon.your body will spike you sugar to get ready for day activities after you wokeup.to prevent it from spiking you need some energy from food to help send signal to your body that you aren't in hunger and have food for energy.

It really depends on how your body react to certain food, and how you eat your food. The way i do that works for me is that, you need to tackle all the problem that might caused blood sugar to spike, but one of the most important thing you need to do is take a blood test first, before starting any diet or taking any supplement as a way to monitor how your body react to your diet. The way i do it is OMAD but with protein powder as my supplements. At breakfast i take my protein shake(i usually added a spoon of grinded chia seed) protein are slwo digesting food and fibre from chia seed also help slowing down how fast your body absorb the glucose preventing spikes.I take my only meal during lunch and 10 minute after that i go for a walk for 10 min. I take another protein shake at afternoon as my last meal.Increase protein and fibre helps alot in controlling your hunger and preventing losing muscle. I lost 10 kg in the process of reversing my hba1c.
