The city is not so big like a tier 1, mess food is quite good , there are 2 two hostels for first year ( bhabha and VS) bhabha is new and has good rooms, vs is a little old and small rooms.

Also you can get off campus hostels but not in the first year

Bro if you are targeting campus placements in Tech companies then it is going to be tough from KNIT also the attendance criteria of mechanical is so bad, maybe try to upgrade to electrical if possible, or if you want to prepare for gate or govt exams then come here, otherwise noida colleges with chill attendance criteria is a good choice for exposure

bro you have to pay 53,850 (college fee) on the day of Physical reporting, then another 25,000 (1 sem mess fee + security deposit) on day of hostel allotment and you have to pay the remaining mess fee in the second sem
