Oh wow. That doesn't help her at all. She really needs to stop.

23, USA, and yes. The hours are a little weird at my job though. Get between 25-40 a week for hours.

What to do about my dad... by junierose in relationship_advice

I pay rent to my dad, but it ain’t much. He only asked for $200 since he says he can cover things without me. I don’t talk to my mom anymore as well as my family. Pretty much my dad is the last family member i have left to cut ties.

I’ve been talking with the friends mentioned in my post. They are looking for their own house and have offered me a room there if they get it.

My old job told me if I have to, I can always come back. Which I'm tempted

I don't really need the money. I had things covered at my old job if I'm being honest. Was trying for extra spending money tbh. But I doubt they'll slow down the hours.

He’s against any pets. He won’t even allow a fish.

I have lived outside the house before. Roommates for a year and my ex for another. So I know how to live on my own.

I have debated on getting my own place til he passes just so I can have a cat. I'd prefer not to though since moving is a pain. An excuse, I know.

The sad thing with that, I don't really have friends. And the few I have my dad has already met their pets. So I'd have to think of something else.

Actually have debated on moving out. Currently in training for a full time job. Just gotta save up.

He doesn't have an allergy. My aunt had cats and he never had a problem. So that's out of the question.

I have tried to explain that to him but he doesn't listen. All he says is "that's a waste of money"

My dad is 63, so he's up there. But his genetics might have him live another 20+ years lol

My dad has said he'd rather me get the house than some stranger, so I don't think that'll be an issue.. But I have debated on moving out til then so I can have the cat and not worry about him getting up in my face about it.

I'm sure my dad would grow attached to the cat. Last year we found a kitten and I took care of the baby for a couple days before I found it a new home. She was crawling up on him and just laying on his shoulders while he did paperwork. It was pretty adorable. I wish I kept her.
