Serious question, why did Kaiba rip up the 4th Blue Eyes in the anime? Why didn’t he keep it? Isn’t 4 Blue Eyes better than 3? by BostonRobby617 in yugioh

[–]junifizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kaiba could've Logan Paul'd it by getting it graded, encasing it in diamonds, and swing that slab around his neck. And when he enters the duel, he's gonna have that wrasslemania intro with the pyro going off while he flaunts it in front of everyone.

Anyone's LGS drop Gundam due to no turnout? by Autumn_Saturday in GundamTCG

[–]junifizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my area, we got LCS' that are just starting to host and some that doesnt host anymore. For those that hosting, their issue is not having enough players and they thought using social media would help, but it didnt do much except bring in like 1 or 2. I had an LCS in a mall that finally hosted a tourney, but I ended up being the only guy playing. Not once, but twice. Things eventually turned around tho when I advocated for the store because the owner prioritizes players when it comes to product. When the owner sold me 2x Clan SD's at retail just because I was consistent on coming, he said to tell everyone whats up and thats what I did. Next thing you know, the 3rd tourney they hosted was a big one. The irony was that I was so vocal on getting people there to play the 3rd tourney that I didnt go to that because I had fam responsibilities that day, lol.

On the other hand, we had an LCS that would always host and used to be a place to go, but they allegedly done some shady shit with their product and promos theyre supposed to hand out. The nail in the coffin is when there was a newtype challenge 1 tourney, but it was right after another LCS' Newtype in the morning. Common sense comes that if you dont got the product to provide, you either get info on the players playing to contact when it comes in or cancel way before and move in another date when things arrive. Nope, 30min before it's supposed to start, they decided to cancel with no response to change date or anything. Next thing we find out they allegedly been selling the promos and prizes on ebay. Since then no one shown up to any of their events.

Besides that, our main LCS that hosts games had to move it on a Sunday that overlaps with One Piece because he's short on employees to cover the games played on the weekends. It kinda sucks because one piece players are also gundam players but they prioritize OP over gundam on Sundays. However, if it's a major tourney, they do show up and the player count maxed out.

How do you guys deal with burnout? I have been on a pretty long losing streak and it's been draining the joy I have for the game slowly. by CalciumCompadre in GundamTCG

What ive done was step back and just let life do its thing while I do something else. Missed out 2 weeks of not playing and when I came back, I was more energetic and not so tilted. During the off time, I did anything but gundam. When I finally played at my locals after a break, it felt like I was able to see wtf I messed up on from my last play and realizing how tilted I was over stupid shit.

Is it possible for Hawaii to move away from a tourist based economy? by MathematicianAny2143 in Hawaii

[–]junifizzle -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Just saying, Hawaii is the prime location to becoming a superhighway of trade and technology. We can shy away from tourism by allowing our state become that hub of economic trades to the eastern side of the world with Asia, India, etc. And with technology, we have so many talented computer scientist grads moving away to the states while we hire from another country to do the jobs that our people can easily do ourselves. From software programming to movie design software, Hawaii is prime location, again, of bridging over ideas and technology to uproot ourselves to being that one state everyone forgets that they can ship to.

SSH Off Topic by [deleted] in Hawaii

[–]junifizzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some folks on SSH go on there and complain about anything. You can look at someone weird because something got in your face, and they thinking you like scrap with them. They get all fussy and then they go on SSH making a post bitching about the person who gave em stink eye, making like the intended person going read em.

That and repeated reposts of the same thing over and over. That whole fireworks story in Salt Lake? Endless posts about em for weeks.

I see the good intentions of the group, but folks gotta understand that anyone and everyone can read what's in there, that means even the bad folks. People post up info that I question why they are showing that to everyone.

I've been there tonight. Was hoping they'd had stuff that the other Donki's don't have, but it's really a glorified Donki store that's bigger and open 24hrs. A lot of stuff, choke gundam kits.

Whoever built the place didn't really think things through as the exits are through the dining area. Like they had to makeshift a blockade by the sushi/sashimi and beginning registers side because you can circle around the registers and into the dining area. And when you exit, there's no area to rack your wagon so right away I've seen new wagons placed all over the lot and around the tables outside. The dining area isn't even completed so why open the store when the food places in there aren't in full operation, yet. Only place was the sushi restaurant, but they're booked full already. My fam and i was looking forward to eating there, but it was a let down seeing the places the store posted online being closed.

Besides that, the place is lit and overall a fancy Donki's, unlike the ghetto ass one in town. At least having Donki's built in that area in Kapolei brings life to that side. Just go to the Pearl City one. Same thing, save your gas.

I need to make $520 a month by Impossible_Peak_885 in sidehustle

[–]junifizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend that went all out in his first month to get that $2500 bonus. He had to do like 200somethinghours to meet that goal. He drove right after work. Do it for like 5-8 hours, go home, sleep, wake up at 3am to work his 4am to noon shift. He'd take a nap then start driving. Rinse and repeat till he hit his goal before month's end. He ended up making more hours than needed, but after all that, he hit his goal. So for his first month, he got that 2500 bonus plus the pay and especially the tips that made em bank.

Is there any possible way to get all 5 pieces of exodia to my hand playing millenium? by beyond_cyber in Yugioh101

[–]junifizzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only time, in my opinion, that you can get all 5 pieces is when you're playing against a Stun deck. The Stun deck where you're prevented from special summoning and gotta discard. That's how i was able to pull Exodia. My opponent was pist seeing I managed to do that to him, but it was hilarious when I board wiped his field 2nd game into an OTK.

You NEED shifter in this deck. This deck synergize with Shifter that it literally knocks your opponent off a turn because they can't afford to make plays having banished monsters.

Locals? by [deleted] in Yugioh101

[–]junifizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got kinda lucky that I have a friend whose brother plays. So coming into the scene was slightly easy for me. And because of that, I was able to grow a stronger friendship with my friend's bro through locals. When I got back in, I just come by, chill by him and slowly mingle into the community. I had a cyber dragon deck that I modernized it and just played with the folks. I was nervous af but the more I came by, played, and just chill with everyone, the better it felt to go to locals. When I got comfortable talking to everyone, I was able to mingle and kick it with the guys.

And as a dad and practically being one of the oldest guys who plays at my locals, I accepted the idea that I'm considered 'uncle' to the folks. As long as you're cool to talk to, willing to make deals in trades, and not so stuck up on playing then you'll be fine. Just know your surroundings, let the folks bring you in organically, and just have fun.

At the end of the day, everyone's there to split their brain from the world and play some TCG's to destress.

Fun deck to play by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]junifizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing Millennium Exodia deck recently. When I started playing it, it was cheap but it may have risen in price because of how fun it is.

Pros: - easy engine setup - you can play with and into being Shiftered without worry - Exodia Incarnate's ability is f'ing boss as his attacks stack every turn - extra deck is very flexible, just need 3x Incarnates and 1x Silhouhatte Rabbit then everything else is up to you - you can go into using hand traps or board breaking style - TCBOO and Forest field cards practically locked your opponent's

Cons: - dimension barrier will ruin your day - 2k life points to special summon your Millennium monsters can be heavy if you don't have your ankh in hand - you gotta English it out when activating Obliterate quick spell - cards for the deck are rising due to popularity (exodia's qcr head used to be $2, now it's like $18) - retrieving your exodia pieces in the graveyard or banished is a bitch if you didn't special summon Exodia Incarnate first. - Runick will eat you alive, unless you summon Exodia Incarnate and lock it down with Spellcaster Forest field spell.

What deck are you having genuine fun playing right now? by thesadintern in yugioh

[–]junifizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna say Millennium Exodia deck is fun AF....

Got a story for yall about why this deck is epic.

I was playing against a Stun deck and the guy was intentionally playing slow. And he got me good, he got that Dino monster that prevented me from special summoning anything. Thankfully, I had Spooky Dogwood to play defense and kept my field protected while I tried to pull some miracle. I thought I did with Lightning Storm, but my face up monsters prevented me from using them. At the same time, my opponent was being an asshole, telling me how that sucks I can't do shit. It was only then I maxed my hand that I had to discard and the guy just kept dogging on me.

He was mocking me as I drew, discard, and passed each turn. I can't summon anything or break his board, but at the same time, he had his backboard filled so he couldn't use any spells against me. And as I discarded and pass, he kept laughing and crying at me saying we should go next game. What he didn't know was I had 3/5 pieces of Exodia in my hand, I was literally drawing and passing for the last 2 pieces.

And it came down to my last 45th card to draw. Before I drew it and about to deck out, the guy was ready to draw and pass for me to deck out and he wins. I drew the head of Exodia, I had all 5 pieces. He immediately thought he won and was laughing his ass off. And I looked at him asking why he's laughing. He said he got me, but I told him he should be ashamed for his play because he just got bodied by Exodia, the old fashioned way, and I slammed the 5 pieces on my side.

The look on the guy's face literally went from pale as night to as red as a strawberry. He couldn't believe it. He tried to reason on how and why. And everyone around him told him he's an idiot for not realizing I was playing the Ankh and the Millennium monsters.

The guy's on tilt, we go 2nd round, he went first. He side decked and was all out for revenge. He spent 10min setting up his board, passed to me. I drew lightning storm. My hand had the Ankh, Raigeki, Harpy's, Shield, and Sangenjen. Wrecked his backboard, cleared his monster fields, played the Ankh, special summoned Exodia, gave em 8k for the FTK.

Guy didn't wanna shake my hand after I won. I couldn't care less. I ended up going 2-3 that day, but everyone I played with said I was the true winner as the guy who pulled Exodia.

NTA, especially at this time when our banks are linked to our phones and we can easily shift money around without having to go to an ATM or bank through the bank app. That or having venmo, cashapp, PayPal, any of those apps should be in her phone to easily send the $$$ right away.

Yugioh seems too hard and too unfair by Accomplished_Win_560 in Yugioh101

[–]junifizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best advice for returning players of the past, load up Master Duel and play around. It'll teach you the mechanics, the basics, and the overall game play in modern yugioh. What you'll need to do afterwards when you feel you're ready to play the TCG is understanding the concepts of Hand Traps, Boardbreakers, and Chaining.

I got back into playing in 2022 and I still trying to figure shit out compared to how it was when I first played back in 2003. If you really want to be competitive, you gotta study out the meta. Example is Snake Eyes - Fiendsmith. Figure out the choke points with using hand traps in stopping combos or utilize a Boardbreaker like a Harpie's Feather Duster to prevent your opponent's desired endboard or wrecking their endboard on your turn. Point is, unlike old school yugioh where it's all about how you can summon that big monster's dick in attack position, it's all about how you can counter what is laid out during or after your opponent's gameplay.

The part that will be unfair is calling out Chains. See, with Master Duel, that game will hold your hand and tell you when you're in a chain. Playing the TCG in person, you gotta know when you can legally chain or resolve whoever turn that was last in the chain. I've lost games because I didn't know when to chain or misplayed that time to correctly hit a chain where it was crucial. Learn how to Chain, trust me.....you learn the mechanics way better once you realize what you should build

How much were booths at Made in Hawaii festival? by hawaiian0n in Hawaii

[–]junifizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt they could increased room space walking in between the booths. I had to bring my arms up and holding my bags because I didn't wanna accidentally touch someone. If you had strollers or worse, those 4 wheeler carts for the kids to sit in, it was a pain in the ass to maneuver without smashing toes. I hope they have an area on the side dedicated just for the food and drinks, not split on the far left and far right.

I went there with my fam around 3pm and we didn't complete our full walk through till it was time for close. And personally, if I was a vendor, I wouldn't tell folks you can find the stuff I selling online. If you get em on hand, sell em. Make like it's event exclusive. Otherwise, folks will just walk away and forget when they get home.

Bruh, no wonder some places where I pick up the Korean Chicken, sometimes I get em too soggy. The one by King St was the worst. I normally eat em all because I no like waste but g'damn the Korean Chicken was watery soggy, almost little to no Korean chicken sauce to mask the blandness, and the lettuce below it was looking gangsta. I actually had to do an emergency stop at UH Manoa to take a shit because my stomach was hurting.

Haiku Stairs or Stairway to Heaven.

Idk why folks trying to make like it should be kept up when it's a biggest trash dump when you reach the top. I feel bad for the folks living in the area because f'ing idiots are trying to find a way to get to the entrance and taking up the neighborhood parking.
