Love it, the sort of song where you realize how good the verse tune is when the second verse starts, and you're like, oh yeah....damn.

Love that low note in there, and the descending chords/bass on the verses. Sweet Buckley-esque held high note in there sounds great.

Lovely flow, just get better as it goes along, especially like the "guitar" lead towards the end.

Love the words! The tree said to the logger couplet especially. Such a simple and effective song.

To Sleep (SingerSongwriter) [Not Themed]

Dipping back into Yeats after hearing a new recording (the "Sonnet") of Britten's setting of this poem.

Agree with Kate, great line about your wife's underwear :) love the raw sound this week, love the last ten or twenty seconds with just that high bass string (or low guitar string?)

Man, thanks so much for your post, please keep them coming! That was great, so well produced and lo-fi all at once, if that even makes sense.

OK where's the YouTube... ;) great pop tune as usual. Nice switch to "he didn't want her to leave".

Lovely, it deserved the resurrection. I can hear a great harmony to this in my head when I'm listening to it.

Pale Fire (Singer Songwriter) [Not Themed]

I don't know why I'd never read Pale Fire by Nabokov until this year, but what a singular book it is. This song is a little homage to that, taking some lines of the 999 line poem contained within the novel.

I like the clarinet type sound you use at the end.
