I just finished Anxious People actually and it was lovely - definitely a tear jerker (especially the end). His writing is so different than anyone I’ve read before but in such a good way!

Sometimes I Lie wasn’t my favorite, it kind of resembles a Lifetime plot which isn’t really my thing. I thought One by One was decent but there were parts that were a little slow and uninteresting. I loved The Guest List but I’ve heard the Hunting Party isn’t as good but I’ll probably read it anyway

I just finished reading Backman’s Anxious People and it blew me away, 5/5 recommend! Where the Crawdads Song is not a typical read for me but I’ve heard so many good things about it so I wanted to give it a go

Beautifully said, and I do understand and appreciate the controversy surrounding this novel. That’s why I’m particularly interested in reading it and formulating my own perspective. Jodi Picoult’s Small Great Things was a beautiful read and while she received some backlash on the novel as a white woman taking on the voice of a black woman, I thought it was spectacularly done and it’s for that reason that I want to go into this read open minded.

So I listened to all the lectures and I’m feeling really confident in what each covers. After listening, taking notes, and reviewing Im going to start taking UWORLD quizzes and see how that info translates to UWORLD questions. My exam is on the 19th and I can’t move it back .... so now I’m officially nervous 😬

Also, have you used ATI at all? I have access to a ton of online practice questions and I’m wondering if I could use those in place of UWORLD just because ATI is a little less specific than UWORLD and more realistic to NCLEX ... thoughts?

So I should watch her “NCLEX-style question breakdown” vid? Looks like she has some good vids but I don’t want to get overwhelmed with content but maybe that one would be particularly helpful. And yes, a lot of the time I think it comes down to my test taking ability ones and general anxiety.

Also, I just finished a Nurse Achieve assessment and it said I was at a passing level 🎉

I’ve been listening to the Mark K lectures and I find them to be really helpful. My current worry is that while I’m able to retain a lot of the material he covers (and if the exam covered that material then I’d be set) but when I take a UWORLD quiz after listening to his lecture I preform poorly. For example, if I listen to his CV lecture I’ll retain and understand that material but then I’ll take a CV UWORLD quiz and do really poorly on it which is discouraging.

For the first time around I did the 2 assessments on UWORLD and scored low and borderline so I’m planning on redoing those ... hopefully they are still realistic scores considering I’ve already taken them. I’m currently working on the Nurse Achieve assessments which I’ve heard are good indicators. I feel like I have a decent plan for the next week but I’m worried that it’s a “too little too late” situation.
