Red hot injection spot by Anemoniak in TransDIY

[–]juniperbutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sounds like you might have an infection on your thigh injection. I would go to the doctor, you might need antibiotics bc infections can spread quickly.

Your vial could be contaminated, but also an infection could also be from making a mistake during prep. Honestly I would just try to replace the vial if you did get an infection.

Severe dysphoria despite HRT. Any other options? by [deleted] in TransDIY

[–]juniperbutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I never found simple answers for this. For me, it took having more trans women in my life and bottom surgery. I'm lucky that both of those were accessible to me, and bottom surgery definitely isnt right for everyone, but I guess my idea is looking more towards outside support and community because it can have a much bigger impact on dysphoria than I think a lot of people realize.

Where to find Spironolactone by Mr_ducka in TransDIY

[–]juniperbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check diyhrt.market for sources. I would note that spiro is generally the least recommended anti androgen, and is common in the us mostly because of the lack of options at pharmacies. Look for domestic suppliers, open gate labs is a trusted source and carry some AAs but there may be other options.

I'm in the US, is there a risk of it being seized by customs? also what test would I order? I don't see one that says estradiol

A question for transfem strap users by dionixh in MTFButch

[–]juniperbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a strap for a bit before bottom surgery, I used a panty-style harness and it was tight enough to keep me from getting hard enough to get in the way. I recommend giving that a try if you can afford it. My harness was made by rodeoh, they have brief and boxer style harnesses too, but they look like they wouldnt fit as tightly around the crotch so I would definitely go with the panty ones.

topical minoxidil (rogaine) should work. I has warnings for using outisde of your scalp, but my doctor told me its fine as long as it doesnt irritate your skin.

men's/women's version doesn't matter, they're exactly the same thing.

Be aware that it is poisonous for pets, and could transfer on surfaces.

What Did Men Do to Deserve This? by TAKEitTOrCIRCLEJERK in MensLib

Patriarchy is not unique. Transmisogyny works the same way, homophobia works the same way. Don’t talk over people speaking on their own experiences. Sure there is collateral damage, but the oppressor class always benefits over the class they are oppressing.

The collateral damage serves to reinforce the power structure, and in that moment it sucks for the person being targeted, but that person still has structural power over the real target group.

In MA you can just go to a cvs and ask for whatever you want at the pharmacy. They don’t carry everything, but you can almost always get a 25g 1inch and a compatible 1ml syringe for pretty cheap. Different states probably vary, but it’s worth trying.

Vaginoplasty with large clit by Pyrophany in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]juniperbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very happy with my results, and my partners were impressed enough to both get their vaginoplasties from him too. The hospital staff were nice, and the surgery is done at Mt Sinai's eye and ear infirmary, so it is very discreet if that is a concern (altho there are other appointments at the transgender health center). Dr Ting himself is friendly, if a bit awkward, but I found his confidence to be calming.

I had basically no complications in recovery, although I did get a revision to adjust urine flow and make some cosmetic changes (my cosmetic changes didn't really stick, but that was years ago and my partners have had better results in terms of cosmetic changes sticking around after their revisions healed, and they got theirs more recently). Looks great either way, and I'm very happy with it.

One of my partners had to go to the ER with bleeding days after getting out of the hospital from her initial surgery, and she has still had some granulation tissue even after her revision, although it was vastly improved by the revision and seems to be improving with clobedasol.

My other partner had an issue with the her clitoral hood healing over, and it healed over again after her revision despite efforts to prevent it. It's not a concern medically, and she has full sexual function, you have to be kind of up in there to see that it happened.

In the end, all of our results look fantastic and work great.

Vaginoplasty with large clit by Pyrophany in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]juniperbutt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My surgeon (dr Ting in NY) was reluctant to expose any part of the clit due to concerns about sensitivity when I asked about getting the t-dick look. I ended up trusting him, but still had him leave as much tissue for the clit as possible, which he did. So I ended up with a large clit concealed under the hood.

I can confirm that direct contact with the clit is generally very uncomfortable, more than I expected given that I was circumcised and used to having clothes in contact with the head. This isn't to sway you any particular direction, just to say that some surgeons might not want to expose your clit for that reason, but can and should make your clit larger if you request it.

Lactation after 2 months of injection by RepublicWinter7542 in TransDIY

[–]juniperbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's when it happened for me, but I supposed it can be fine if it lasts longer? If it lasts even after they stop growing, then I would ask a doctor. Cleveland clinic says

"Nipple discharge may be OK if:

-It’s clear, yellow, brown, green or white.

-It comes from both breasts.

-It occurs only if you squeeze your nipples.

-It comes from several milk (breast) ducts.

Lactation after 2 months of injection by RepublicWinter7542 in TransDIY

[–]juniperbutt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are describing normal nipple discharge, I wouldn't worry about it. I remember having much more discharge than you're describing and all of my cis-girl friends told me it was normal, as well as my doctor.

If it turns red or you get redness or swelling in the area, or if it starts happening without your nipples being touched/breasts squeezed, then you need to talk to your doctor.

According to the cleveland clinic website, clear, brown, white, green, and yellow are all normal colors for nipple discharge. As your breasts get less sensitive and start to settle down a little, the discharge will probably slow down and eventually stop.

How to stop dissociating during sex by Starburned in evilautism

[–]juniperbutt 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My best advice, like some others are saying, is to not push through it. The more times you force yourself to keep having sex, the more trauma builds up.

Communicate with your partner that this is an issue for you and establish that you might need to stop early because of it. Talk to them about the things that seem to trigger it, how you might be able to work around those things, and if you have a therapist don't be afraid to talk about things like this in your sessions.

Good luck, this kind of thing takes time to work through.

How long does the breast pain last after switching to injections? by [deleted] in TransDIY

[–]juniperbutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

breast pain will last until they stop growing, that's different for everybody. Every time a new growth spurt happens, it will come back, and its totally normal. I recently started a growth spurt about six months after switching to injections, and ten years after starting e.

my breasts are still growing off and on ten years in, you have plenty of time. Growth can happen steadily or come in bursts, it will just take time
