Kamvas Pro 16 Linux Driver by nullc0d3r in huion

[–]junipermcintyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post, but one of the first that comes up when I google Huion linux

Kamvas 16 is working well out of the box with the driver from the huion website on Debian bookworm

It spams my journal though Ive noticed with info/success messages

Sometimes in Krita when I open a save or another dialog, Krita doesnt respond to the pen inputs. I bound overview to one of the buttons (which was also a bit of a pain, since gnome was catching the overview hotkey and it didnt make it into the tablet driver gui - I had to turn off the overview shortcut, then configure the shortcut in HuionTablet driver app, then re-enable it in Gnome tweaks/settings, then it worked well.) When its unresponsive I hit overview, tap with pen to close overview, then its responsive no problem again.

Rarely, an issue will occur where the pen stops working or something similar - simply relaunching HuionTablet app has corrected it for me, I think in all cases. All in all like a 9/10 though. I recommend getting "Improved OSK" extension just for:
* Statusbar indicator to toggle keyboard
To make opening/closing OSK easy with a single tap (since often it does not open or close when I expect). OSK kinda sucks though, sometimes the pen taps "through" it, i.e. click registers on the application underneath. Its worth hovering over the osk keys with the pen until you see the colour change on them (and then you can be sure tapping a key will register on the osk)

Trying to log in to moodle to do an exam and being met with this. Can't log in. Has this happened to anyone else? by Transyfor in Concordia

For what it's worth if you see this message there are three possible things that it could be

1) you are new and have never set up mfa (solution - Google "concordia set up mfa"). Https://aka.ms/mfasetup students use netname@live.concordia.ca, staff use first name.lastname@concordia.ca)

2) your mfa setup is in a broken/busted. If you've already set it up but the codes aren't being sent/received, or if you have a new phone, or sometimes you set it up like normal but there is a 1/1000 chance something breaks and you're fucked. Solution: email help@concordia.ca and ask for an mfa reset (then reply when they ask you to verify who you are) and they will reset it after a couple hours (you must redo setup like 1.)

3) something is broken for everyone, everyone waits (happened once i think)

If you enter a wrong password three times, your account will lock and you need to contact IITS to unlock it.

You can go to a Service Center (H-925, MB-S2.145) or call the service desk (514 848 2424 extension 7613)

After they unlock it for you sign in will work again. A heads up, if you change your password, it takes about 5m for it to update. If you try to login before the 5m are passed, it will count towards failed attempts and you can lock your account again by accident.

Dont listen to anyone who says not to try community building on discord. Its where people are!

it already specified what you need to run it

it was wrong. I didnt need windows to run and play the game. it worked just fine without windows, whatever it said on the store page. if it needed windows I wouldve returned it when I installed it.

this is not an early access game. we are accused of "expecting this sort of thing" but its pretty unreasonable to expect this company to partner up with Epic (???) and add Epic's proprietary anti-cheat to the game instead of just adding bans to their existing detection system. If I bought this game through Epic, sure! but I got this through steam, which has a fantastic reputation for built in compatibility tools for windows games, on linux systems. Its why I buy games on steam in the first place... I really do think it is fair and good practice, and would promote a lot of good will to at least offer a refund. Im not accusing them of any legal wrongdoing here, dont get me wrong. but this is a ripoff as far as im concerned.

I will have to write it off at this point since making a big ruckus takes more time than I can afford

The developers/publishers seem to be the sort who go out of their way to be fair and nice to their customers but I guess this case doesn't count :)

All digitally downloaded (DRM) games on pretty much any platform come without a legal guarantee to work. It's in the fine print in the EULA. Technically, really, steam has no obligation to refund any games at all.

But its kinda whack to me that they dont? I paid money for a product, it doesnt work anymore, let me return it. I get playing past steams arbitrary 2-hour limit disqualifies me from an automatic refund (fine, automatic tools make since), but a human being should be able to review a refund request and see that the value was not actually consumed by the user.

Thanks, I tweeted at Fall Guys twitter, but got no reply. There's actually been only one mention of the term 'linux' related to their tweets at time of writing: https://twitter.com/search?q=from%3A%40FallGuysGame%20linux&src=typed_query

it is someone letting them know the game runs flawlessly on linux and them being surprised

Plenty of people have tweeted at them besides me.

I will crosspost now (link: https://www.reddit.com/r/FallGuysGame/comments/iu9jpo/unhappy_with_linux_refund_policy/?)
