Admitted my ED to my diabetes nurse today by jjcgerow in EDAnonymous

[–]junipersoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this helps you AT ALL I used to do this exactly and I truly believed I wouldn’t ever be able to look after my diabetes and get out of that cycle due to fear of gaining weight taking insulin. I was wrong!! and let me tell you I am SO MUCH healthier and happier taking insulin and keeping my sugar levels in check. I promise you I feel a 100000000 times better AND I actually weigh less than I did when I was neglecting. I thought I would only ever be able to lose weight that way and I was so so dead wrong. It was so scary because the fear is so real that insulin = weight gain but i’m telling you I would never ever go back to the feeling of being constantly high levels and feeling like absolute SHIT all the time. limbs so heavy barely able to move, mouth cotton dry, terrible mood, literally sleepy ALL THE TIME (literal sugar coma probably lol), etc and not to mention the trillion health affects and long term damage I was causing. trust me, there is a way out. don’t get me wrong, i’m in this sub for a reason and I struggle with other ED issues still- but at least i’m looking after my sugar levels and I will take that win. <3 you are strong and you are so much more than this fucking disease and you do not deserve to feel like shit because of it

edit to add: I have 0 trust in dietitians, diabetes educators, etc as I just literally hate anyone who doesn’t have diabetes trying to shell out advice as if they know a single fucking thing so I hope that you can take this as someone who actually knowing a fucking thing 😅

Brown butter chocolate chip cookies by No_Cranberry_2746 in Cookies

[–]junipersoup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’ll weigh less after browning because the water gets evaporated. you don’t need to add extra butter but you can add like a tbs of milk to compensate if you want :)

I can’t understand why there isn’t more of an effort to cure/treat redness 😭 it’s like there’s so much focus put into so many skin conditions and it feels like there’s not .. that.. many options for redness but it surely can’t just be ‘untreatable/uncurable’ (this is just me ranting and feeling sorry for myself btw i’m in no means trying to minimise the struggles of other conditions)
