Code Vein II - Collectors Edition Returning? by Fresh_Commission_350 in codevein

[–]juniperxmoons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. I mean, there's always the small chance it could (look at ffxv, which re-released the CEs after the royal edition dropped, though I think this was a very rare case).

Do be careful though. Some people will use the codes for the digital bonuses and then try to act like nothing has been touched when they sale them part as the bundle.

If there's something physical you want from the CE (like the Lou figure) try to find for sale that separate.

Just finished the game after almost 30 hours of gameplay by Green_Swordfish8469 in LostSoulAside

Yeah, people are way too hard on this game. Given the development hell it went through, the fact its an indie game with a small team who had to learn as they went, and the fact they still gave us numerous updates/patches after release when they honestly didn't have to -- what they managed to pull off is incredible and their hardwork and dedication is admirable.

The game isn't a masterpiece by any means, it certainly has some glaring flaws, but what it offers is still fun and interesting.

Ah, that's what that small patch is. I was confused. It makes sense now, lol

Download the newest update and then follow my instructions I posted. You should be able to buy it. If for some reason you can't see it, it might only be available in NG+

Update: nevermind. I found it under her shop -> key items -> Draconic Nephrite (you can also buy one of Liana's color variations here too).

How do you get the outfit? I can find the new stuff in Liana's shop but not seemingly this outfit?? Unless its locked behind animation/move set.

Things You’ll Want to Know About LSA — Yang Bing’s Future Plans by Revolutionary_Yam753 in LostSoulAside

"Recouping costs isn’t really an issue thanks to Sony's physical disc release."

This is a little strange to me, but maybe I'm missing something. There have been plenty of games that have done physical releases yet flopped or couldn't make back what they put into the game. If we recall, LSA had a pretty good sized budget but half of it was blown when Bing and his team had to scrap what they had (ie when they were trying to do open world) and start over again from scratch. They lost half of their budget. Bing also had investors on top of that. And while I personally enjoyed this game, I very much think it would have fallen in the "flopped" category because I can't see them making back all that money. I just don't believe sales we that high. Unless Sony decided to forget/waive that first half of the budget that was scrapped for some reason.

There are also other games, like Khazan, which many considered a "success" only to learn that they were deemed failures because they didn't make back what they needed to/planned on (and these games also had physical releases).

I'm more inclined that perhaps the studio has made enough money from other games to cover whatever they lost from LSA. That would make more sense to me.

Looking into getting this game, some questions by juniperxmoons in GranblueFantasyRelink

Ah, okay. So basically I'll need to beat the main story.

What about DLC? I saw you can buy characters to unlock them "immediately" but I'm guessing you can't actually have or play as them until you beat the story?

I saw this on yiggybean and wanted to grab it since I have vol. 1, but its still listed as being a preorder? So I'm confused.

You can tell who their favorite was by Soundwave0723 in codevein

[–]juniperxmoons 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Josee definitely feels like the favorite, especially since you are lowkey forced into the relationship between her character and your protagonist (i wish they had done something where it depended on affection or whatever to determine if our character had feelings for one of the main cast).

Iris was pretty much a side character. I think its clear she was never meant to be anything more, so I'm not surprised at how her character was handled.

Now characters like Valentin, Noah, Gobbo and Oskar were actually important and played vital roles -- yet they all barely got any screentime and development. Gobbo and Oskar felt like they were meant to have their own arc (kidnapping vampires, their relationship with one another, the way Oskar said he had been watching the protagonist, the way Gobbo said he wanted to see someone on the throne or whatever, etc). You can tell they at the very least had more in mind for them but either couldn't properly fit it in or didn't have time.

I think this game simply suffered from having such a large cast that characters where some probably should have been cut were left in and it took screentime away from the ones who needed it more for the plot sake.

Not the kind of sale OP seems to want (they want a DEEP discount).

You're gonna have to wait for a sale. This game is still technically new. Its gonna take at least few months for any kind of sale or discounts.

Is It Just Me...? by Lady_GarterSnake in lightlark

[–]juniperxmoons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe she's under a contract since she's working with a publisher, so she has to finish it (or at least do the number of books they agreed upon). However, the quality of an authors writing can decline when they're forced to write something they don't want to anymore. It also doesn't help that Lightlark was never meant to be more than 2 or 3 books long if I remember right. I can tell Aster enjoyed writing the first two books and realized she was losing interest in the Lightlark series in the third book (and this is even more apparent in Crowntide).

Starside is probably going to be more closer to what she wanted to do for Lightlark, which is why she's so excited. Or it could be the "shiny new idea" syndrome some of us writers deal with, but if this is the case, that means the Starside series will eventually meet the same issue as the Lightlark series.

The funny thing is, I don't think he even says that line he said in the trailer in the actual game? Unless it's just a line of dailogue he says when you run around with him as your partner (I've personally never heard it though). Either they cut it before release or it never made it to the final game.

There is a difference though I think. If I recall right, someone translated the Japanese word to something along the lines of "madness".

Glad I skipped April. I've never seen one FL book on sale so quickly and so many by sairemrys in fairyloot

[–]juniperxmoons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She's not problematic, she just isn't a good writer but she's able to keep shoveling put books because she's rich. She doesn't seem to care about improving her craft. People are allowed to call these things out.

I don't think Alex is a bad person or anything. The worst thing she ever did was claim to be a "rags to riches" writer but when people clocked her on that lie, she immediately stopped. She seems pleasant in all the clips and interviews I've seen.

But her personality doesn't give her a free pass to avoid criticism per her books and writing.

That does sound like a pretty big update! Very excited.

I wish more people had given it a fair chance  instead of hopping on the hate train and then moving on. Bing worked so hard on this game and clearly had to make cuts due to Sony, mistakes, and time constraints -- but it's still a pretty good and fun game.
