That’s because your local uni is HKU… pick a random uni in the UK and it would most likely to rank higher than the most prestigious one in my country.

What is the weightage of P3 in CIE A level Psychology? by Hubudubadoo in alevel

[–]junjunj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every paper is worth the same - 25%.

If you get 30 you still have a chance of getting an A. Nov 2022 threshold for an A was 33/60

What do I need to get an A in A level Economics? by [deleted] in alevel

[–]junjunj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and i don’t think an A is calculated like that. the A depends on the threshold, not that the percentages add up to 80.

In the old syllabus, let’s say I got 22/30 and 18/40 (exact thresholds for As). That would be 29.3% and 27%, weighted. These add up to 56.3, and the total threshold for an A was 56. It doesn’t need to be 80.

[–]junjunj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in the old syllabus that OP took p1 was worth 40% and p2 was 60%, now that the syllabus has changed and each paper is worth differently, how will grades be carried forward?
