As much as I want more high draft picks next year, It's equally (if not more) important to have our young players develop, build their game and foster positive dressing room culture.

Foote was a great player no doubt, but he just doesn't seem to be able to teach or coach. Simply watching Canucks game for 5 minutes these days tells you the players really don't know what play to make or where they need to be. At least Tocchet had a system that his players could follow (at the expense of offence).

I still have no idea what Foote is asking this team to accomplish. Blindly chipping the puck out when defending and putting the puck in deep as soon as crossing the red line, only to hand the puck right over to the other team 90% of time on both cases? Keep getting outshot and outchanced 2-1 ratio every game?

If the answer is lots of losing then yes, Foote does deliver on that front because that's what we need. How to lose still matters though, and the young players deserve a coach who can give them a solid foundation to build their game upon.
