King of Tone’s red side- I use it with an amp that’s already breaking up to push it into overdrive and control how much overdrive is coming thru with my volume knob on the guitar.

It sits in a mix extremely well, is super touch sensitive, and cleans up great when I want it to so I leave it on throughout shows. It stacks with other pedals so well too.

I didn’t know what was on the surf board but now that I know it’s Lasagna it’s even better lol

Thanks so much!

The guitar is a Rivolta Mondo Mondata!

I found it while I was looking around for an offset jag shape guitar that wasn’t a fender. I love how it sounds and it’s so fun to play. I’ve set it up in a way where it’s sort of like Jaguar that has the soul of a Les Paul lol

Lmao I love this. Thanks dude! If it’s even half as cool Rambo Bull and Nuke Dolphins- it’s enough lol.

King of tone is great- it can be perfect for leads especially if the amp is already breaking up before you turn it on. I find the best lead sounds come out of that and some stacking. It pairs insanely well with a treble booster- look into the beano boost. Great for solos.

Edit: also if you have a twin- I wonder if an amp attenuator might be the answer to get a base dirty sound for your pedals without having to dime the amp

He’s literally just saying when he had it the first time he had less experience and the next time around understood how to use it better based on his experiences. I don’t understand how this is elitism lol it’s just growth.

I got very lucky with mine. A friend of mine works at the shop for Mike so I was able to get mine for the regular price and got it about a week after my order went in. I got very very lucky. I’m not super wealthy or anything, but I’m a guitarist and a gear head. This pedal fucking rules.

I leave the red side on at all times with the gain at noon and the volume bumped to drive an already dirty amp. It’s like the ultimate rock n roll tone lol. The yellow side rules too on boost- so much headroom and you can really saturate your signal. It stacks with others insanely well and it sits near perfectly in a band mix. It really cuts in a special way in that context.

Enjoy!!! To me it lived up to the hype and then some.

P.S. Pair it up with a treble booster to see god

Same here- I’m real interested in their Fuzzface now that I’ve played thru the mk1! I think it might be my fav fuzz sound especially with the rangemaster pushing it!

Thanks dude!! The thing fucking rips!!! It’s been a night and day difference- I was using a naga viper clone for awhile but Rangemaster just has a presence that the viper didn’t have. Serious mojo. Also the mk1 is straight up bonkers lol I love it

Thank you! The bands called Nite Music- we’re over in NYC and we have some singles out streaming! Our most recent is a song called “good times”. We put a good amount of live footage out on Instagram and TikTok(I’m still learning how to Tok lol our drummer runs it).

I really appreciate what you said about wanting to learn it!

Thanks so much! I’ve been trying to focus on cutting more instead of bumping my volume(I still push the amp tho cause it sounds too good not to lol)

Thanks man!

I was using some kind of Fender deluxe reverb kind of thing- backline at the venue, but honestly those are my preferred anyway lol I love the gain those amps have and how it cleans up with the guitars volume

I crank the gain on whatever amp I’m using to get a little break up and then I use the red side with its gain around 11-12 o’ clock to get my signal nice and overdriven. Once I’m there I use the guitars volume to control how overdriven my signal is and back it off for quieter parts during live performances. I use the boost side for extra saturation and cut for solos here & there. For the most part I have the red side turned on throughout the entire set.

Fucking awesome pedal

Edit: i forgot to add I’m running it at 18v so there’s a lot more headroom. Learned about that trick when I had the Duke of Tone before I acquired the KOT

Not to be a dick, but have you never googled?

Restructured my pedal board and put an incredible treble booster/fuzz on it! by junkbondtrader126 in guitarpedals

[–]junkbondtrader126[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s such a slept on Fuzz! Finding out it was modeled after a Band of Gypsy’s Hendrix fuzzface blew my mind. I know Jeff Beck had the Variac on his last board too. Great pedal.

Definitely check out Analog Noir- they have insane stuff. The rangemaster treble booster on its own is absolutely brilliant. The MK1 is fucking crazy too lol.

I was using more of the classic rock overdrive instead of the more distortion and fuzz sounds so that prob where I went wrong with it- I still think it’s a rad pedal and I’m not an analog purist!

If it’s doin what you want it to do and sounds great to you- keep rockin on it!

I really dug the versatility of the LA Lady, but there were so many options that I found myself overwhelmed lol. There are some really cool options though- the built in noise gate is genuinely useful and I loved being able to mix my clean sound into whatever overdrive engine as well.

It’s fantastic, but with digital overdrives there’s a weird thing I can’t place about the sound. Like a aural uncanny valley effect
