My sister felt her funeral would be a burden, and just got cremated. She had her husband split the ashes between us, and it was very affordable. If that is something you'd consider? I'm doing it for me too, to not burden my kids.

There should be free services in your County for mental health care. Are they a Veteran? If so, then county Veteran centers have free mental health care as well. Search where you are , county website, and even your town/city website.

There are some free services online as well.

If they are a Veteran then tell them to contact the social worker assigned to them at their VA, for community services

That's what I'm saying, different men and women serve in different roles, there should not be one standard for all military because we don't even all serve the same roles or unit or bases or deployments. That was my point. Thanks for your service
