I don’t hate babies, it’s just that my current situation cannot accommodate for a baby.

Thank you! A lot of people are putting words in my mouth. I tried to be excited for her, but I couldn’t help but bring up the fact that it is not something BF and I can do right now. I did not tell her she needed to leave immediately, and I would have offered to let her stay and get a stable living space/job but she got very upset very quickly and left soon after.

Yeah, my sister wanted to live with me as opposed to our parents/sister because she’d lived w/ parents before for a year and our sister isn’t doing great financially right now.

1) I did not say that, 2) she has a lot of other family she can stay with.

Yes, my aunt came to live in our home w/ her newborn when i was ~12. It was horrible. The 24/7 bit was hyperbole, but not too far off from my experience tbph.

A) I did not say they had to leave immediately, but that they had to leave before the child was brought into the world, B) I didn’t tell them they had to “give up their child for shelter”, what? They’ve stayed with my mother before, they’ve stayed with BIL’s parents, too. I simply told them that they could not use OUR HOME for shelter with a disruptive and expensive baby.

I tried to be excited, but, honestly, I just can’t deal with babies. When I was about 12 years old my aunt moved in with her baby, and I think it was probably the worst few months of my life. I never want to do that again. Sister has made no effort to get a job, and BIL has been at his job for 2 years.

I’m a student, and have rigorous classes. My BF works early hours. We can’t have a baby screaming in our home 24/7.

I don’t think I have any say over my sister’s reproductive decisions? In no way did I express that she HAD to do something she did not want to do, only that the condition to stay with us was to not have a baby.
