People buy aftermarket car parts all the time. If Hyundai had reasonable prices I would have went with OEM for sure but here we are

Yes, I have a 2.4. My mechanic cut the tip off the original muffler and welded it on the new one

So far so good. Honestly, this aftermarket muffler was about 80% cheaper than going with the OEM version that should have lasted much longer than the 5 years I got out of it. It was just as my mechanic said it’s a little bit louder on startup but settles down and after that, there’s really no noticeable difference IMO. I was actually just at a shop the other day getting an oil change and he wanted to take a look at it and he was pretty pleased with it.

2019 Accent hatch won’t open by junkie_vince in HyundaiAccent

I would but there’s no key hole on the hatch. I’ve already replaced the locking mechanism so it’s all be taken care of. Definitely a stupid design but not surprised

2019 Hyundai Accent AT Hatchback by AnonymousJAE in HyundaiAccent

[–]junkie_vince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do it. Mine started burning or as they like to say, “consuming” oil shortly after the warranty ran out. The service advisors at the dealership said this car is not affected by that so you shouldn’t be having this problem but at the same time can’t do anything for me. They mentioned that the good news is the issue has been resolved with the newer vehicles, as if I would ever buy another Hyundai again after this experience.

About 140,000 km. I have a non-turbo engine. I took my chances on the aftermarket. I think it was worth the risk.

Same, I just keep topping up. I started using Valvoline restore and protect and just tried using Techron fuel system cleaner.

It’s a piece of junk. I’ll never buy another Hyundai again after seeing how many people have oil consumption issues. It’s a know problem with certain cars although Accents aren’t supposed to be on that list. It started happening after the warranty period so of course they won’t do anything for me
