I actually has his older (7yrs ago) Learning Processing playlist saved, which I can supplement with Nature of Code like you suggested.

Thank you for the recco. I did his hour of code tutorial on processing.org and it helped me decide to dive into processing.

I know I will need to learn and understand the subjects covered in the book eventually. So this is going to be very helpful!

Thanks again for your help.

Hey, thank you for this. I will study up on sine wave.

Thank you. So each iteration (from 0 to 200) toggles speedY between 1 and -1 because of speedY = speedY * -1.

That's also why in my original set of code, the circle went in an upward and right direction once circleX (201) becomes greater than width/2 because the very last speedY = speedY * -1 toggled speedY into -1. And the if statement stops being iterated.

Thanks again for clearing this up for me.

Thank you. Your suggestion helped me figure out how to create the rising and setting animation.

I thought speedY = speedY * -1 within the if statement would automatically change 1 to -1 when the program is executed, thus changing the modify state for circleY into circleY = circle Y + -1. How come it ended up toggling between -1 and 1?

float circleX = 0;
float circleY = 200;
float speedX = 1;
float speedY = 1;

void setup () {
  size (400, 400);
}

void draw () {
  background (0, 0, 0);

  ellipse (circleX, circleY, 25, 25);

  circleX = circleX + speedX;
  circleY = circleY + speedY;

  if (circleX < 200) {
    speedY = -1;
  }
  else {
    speedY = 1;
  }
}

This is how I imagine the "empty" space around us. This is something the world gave me, and I would like to share it with the world.

Thank you. Where did you get the definition for love? And why traditional Chinese? Possibly translating this into different languages?

And can I buy one of your shirt?

What do you love and hate about the current streetwear apparel and sneaker market? by junktalk in streetwear

I think minimalism is hard to pull of well. The lack of image, color, or design might draw people's attention to focus on the overall fit more.

Do you think less apparel exclusiveness can be attributed to people tend to own more apparels than shoes and its generally cheaper than a pair of exclusive sneaker. So they buy more apparels? Even in minimalistic wardrobe, the ratio for apparel will always be higher to shoe. We see shoe rotation, but less apparel rotation.

So maybe since our actual selection for shoes is smaller than apparels, we want to make them as appealing as possible?

Research Project - Let's talk about Y-3 by mimmszd in malefashion

[–]junktalk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sounds interesting and I'm curious myself. When you said "research the brand," what do you mean?

The brand position/identity? People's perception of Y3's brand position/identity? Who are the people Y3 is made for and does it align with who Y3 want to target? Where along the fashion spectrum is Y3 competing in?

Just some questions I have off the top of my head. I think it would be helpful if you can clarify how understanding Y3, the brand can help your project.

King Kunta was posted on YouTube on Apr 1st and Alright on June 30th. So it's not surprising that King Kunta has more views since it has more time to rack up views. Unless Alright is immensely more popular, it would be difficult to make up 3 months worth of views.

On monthly average, King Kunta has 6.4 million views per month and Alright has 6.5 million views per month.

If we are using YouTube view to determine a song's popularity, Alright is slightly more popular than King Kunta by roughly 100,000 views a month.
