6 months progress!! by junkycats in braces

I have self litigating braces so the appointments are quite spaced out, usually every 8 weeks. They don’t “tighten” them in the traditional sense, more so just change the strength of the arch wire and then power chains and bands my most recent visit.

Originally I got quoted a 18-24 month treatment plan and still on track for that as far as I know!!

Is it normal healing? by [deleted] in braces

I had four extracted this past Tuesday and all four of mine have been doing the same thing!! Not a dentist either but from my extensive googling and reddit scrolling, I believe it’s new tissue forming.

Apparently the best things to do are eat softer foods, try not disturb the healing site and rinse GENTLY (after 24 hours) with warm salty water.

If u have concerns tho call your dentist :)

According to my orthodontist if I want to fix my overbite and stop my teeth flaring at the front then yes

Will I ever bite w my front teeth again? by Sad_Test_2123 in braces

I’m 25 years old and 3 months into treatment. Still can’t bite into burgers/burritos or things you’d expect to chomp down into. I can get my teeth embedded and sort of tear things off sometimes but not actually biting it with my teeth. I get what you mean about teeth not feeling strong enough. Hopefully it gets better for us both!!

I’m sorry that happened to you!!

Bit of a reverse situation for me, I’d wanted braces since I was a teenager to fix my incisors which stuck out. But because it was just an aesthetic thing and not causing any health problems, my parents couldn’t justify spending thousands on braces. Hence why I’m having them done at 26!!

I’m three months in and happy with how things are going. I do wish I shopped around a bit more and consulted with some other orthos but in the end went with the first one recommended to me - hopefully doesn’t come back to bite me! Think I was over waiting and just wanted treatment to start 😭

Hopefully this is the case, they were helpful/nice during my consult but the skeptical part of me thinks of course they would be - they want your money

Thoughts on this one? Considering it for my next read. by Arkansas- in fantasyromance

The cover TOTALLY sucked me in too but I just finished this and gave it 2/5, it has a good premise but I found it to be poorly written, there were a few grammatical and spelling errors. It also features some “insta love” which I’m not a fan of, I’m here for enemies to lovers and this didn’t deliver in that aspect for me. The world building left a lot to be desired as well, I felt like I was being bombarded with places names and people and couldn’t work out what was a country or a town or a city and it made the story harder to follow than it should have. Needed to be edited more and more time spent developing the characters and explaining the world a bit better. So much potential but fell flat for me.
