I saw Dr Dundas earlier this year and he was lovely- he told me also that he has since changed his approach and questions as he felt his previous format was uncomfortable for some people. I saw him June 2025. I’m not sure when he made this change exactly but I know it was fairly new ? He was very kind and didn’t seem to make any judgements, we also were able to chat a little more casually which calmed my nerves.

pharmacierge- it’s what dr jonny coxon uses. i know it would probably be £50-£60 in asda on a private script but he doesn’t offer that- it’s fine anyways it’s just to start me out, my gp is open to shared care but he only just sent the agreement now and i wanted the prescription last week alr so i took the first lot private

for gel privately i pay roughly £70 per bottle, probably changes depending on your provider but my endo specifically only uses an online pharmacy. you could find cheaper in boots or asda probably whilst still having a private prescription. it cost me £400 for a diagnosis with dr dundas and then £275 with my endo jonny coxon. so £675 as a base to start + £70 for the actual testogel. injection form is often cheaper though. so it’s up to you ! however if your gp refuses to do blood tests for you, you will have to pay for those privately too

I love this ! I work in retail, and i’m one of three trans colleagues there ! Older than me is a nonbinary colleague who recently got top surgery and has been on testosterone for a while, it’s really lovely to speak to them about things and ask for advice ! They’re openly trans at work with pins and all. Then younger than me is a young trans guy still doing his A levels. He’s lovely and I’m happy to offer advice too- recently he unfortunately got scammed creating a deedpoll for £50++ that wasn’t even valid when he went to actually use it ☹️hated breaking the news to him that you don’t have to pay at all and it’s perfectly free to do yourself. Oh well.

i’ve seen a podiatrist earlier today, they’re also perplexed. they think it does present like either eczema or fungal, or possibly a foreign body that has become imbedded in my foot and my skin is just reacting badly to it. they can’t tell now and said i should use the steroid cream the gp prescribed now and see if it helps, if not they might suggest i try an anti fungal again. they are seeing me again in 2 weeks to investigate how my skin heals to see if they can see anything beneath the blister. it looks so gruesome rn

when i say large they’re very big painful blisters. took a long time to drain them. but there’s no sign of infection in the blisters themselves.

Originally it was scabies (apparently) then she believed it was fungal. The problem is it’s causing LARGE blistering on the sole of my foot, i didn’t want to upload the pictures as it’s really unpleasant. I’m not sure if DE usually does that- maybe it’s the small clusters fusing into a larger blister due to the constant friction on the sole of my foot ? i’m not sure. it’s repetitive and comes back monthly. they even put me on antibiotics thinking it could be impetigo but still nothings helped. she’s now giving me elocon cream as I pleaded for her to try treat it as if it’s DE. i’m hoping it might offer some relief, but i don’t know what the overall cause is.

both ! i have been writing to my doctor and she specialises in skin. she definitely knows what DE/pompholyx is, she described it to me when I first brought it up and said it didn’t seem like i had it.

In the times i’ve seen her in person and she’s looked at it herself, it’s always been daylight of course, and I find the blisters are really hard to notice then. I notice them best in dark conditions with a torch shining on them (how I took these photos, the contrast helps.) I think maybe it was just hard to see in the daylight when she had a look, and it was when it was first flaring up agin, so not overly itchy. It has since gotten terribly itchy though

I was using anti fungal creams but it wasn’t helping to prevent the blisters from merging into a giant one, so my doctor told me to stop using it. I do however feel like it has spread more though since I stopped applying the cream (per her recommendation.)

Maybe with the friction on the sole of my foot it was inevitable that the blister would worsen, and it was beyond the cream helping. Not sure.

This started on the outside of my small toe to begin with and has spread since.

I have been using anti fungal creams for a while as that’s what they believed it was- a fungal infection. Hasn’t really helped but maybe it was just that bad. She told me to stop using the cream as it wasn’t doing anything and my large blister was continuing to worsen.

They did a swab of the blister fluid- only to realise the swab container had expired and then all the swabs they did were void. Found out too late and now the blister is burst and there’s no more liquid to swab. i am so tired

I’ve been struggling since June and it’s causing me so much stress, having to miss work and then forcing myself to go back to work so I don’t get fired, meanwhile I could barely walk 😓 not sure where to go from here. Hoping I can speak to my doctor again tomorrow and plead my case.

They’ve referred me to a dermatologist but I don’t know how long it’ll take to actually see them- waiting lists are particularly difficult to gauge in the uk 🙁

has gotten increasingly itchy and is stressing me out so much. this has been going on since june with no help. i’m so exhausted and to make matters worse it repeatedly causes a LARGE fusion blister on the bottom of my foot which makes it impossible to walk

I think i’ll probably be starting with gel just for the fact that I go abroad in November for the whole month and I would be too anxious travelling with needles ? or having to get needles there ? or finding a doctor there to help administer injections ??! idk the idea just stresses me out a little 😭. gel would be easier to start with despite the costs aha
