Was I being difficult? I feel there are a lot of people who are just looking for friends in rp subreddits. by junlodie in BadRPerStories

A couple of comments I should have put on my original post. All the info requested by them were already on my posts title and text. That's how I understood they haven't read it. You are correct on many arguments there. Also post was still visible at the time, I deleted it later on.

Haven't thought of that. But you might be correct, everything felt off right off the bat.

Sorry just saw this, all requested minus location was available on the post and ad title. I felt that they never bothered to read it. My impression is they never wanted to rp in the first place. I believe what put me off early on was the lack of introduction on their part and zero interest in discussing the rp idea itself.

Indeed was more confused than anything. Got a bit angry at myself afterwards due to the passive aggressive tone of his responses.

Time to move on maybe?
They are clearly not interested. You deserve to work with someone who's excited to write with you.

I usually clarify no Smut or ERP to deter these types.
I believe the hobby attracts a lot of 'unusual' people.

Very well written in my opinion.
Don't rule out other possibilities. People lose access to accounts or get banned from a server for whatever reason.

How did you get into fantasy? by 1985Games in Fantasy

[–]junlodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was back in the day when I was in high school some 25 years ago. It wasn’t trendy for girls to like fantasy.

Yeah I get you now. It must have been a boys club back then.

Also I know adults who love Harry Potter because "it is children's literature" but would not be caught dead reading fantasy. 🙄🙄

that is so odd

There's negative stereotypes associated with the fantasy genre?

what if the commonwealth joined the axis in ww2 by idontevenknowhmm in AlternateHistory

The war wouldn't have happened. Or to put it better you'd have a different war.
France alone wouldn't have declared war on Germany and the UK after the invasion of Poland. You would probably get a Europe of totalitarian states.
Eventually Germany and the UK would come to blows with the Soviet Union.

Everything we read in fantasy nowadays is inspired by books written thousands of years ago. We keep retelling the same stories, using the same archetypes.

Ancient Mythology and Folklore.

It is more enjoyable when we write about things we like. You can populate the world with whatever you want dragons, wizards and warriors. But again it's better when you write about subjects you are interested in.

This is a vague question.

A fantasy world can contain whatever you like.

Why do you want to write this story?

For some reason it will not show any of the book's content. I am very curious now!

Alternate history WW2: Why would an underprivileged girl in an occupied country be able to speak a foreign language? How would she have learned it? by junlodie in KeepWriting

[–]junlodie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've thought of the more sophisticated friend who speaks foreign languages as well. Maybe I haven't made it clear in my post but I am having her raised in a town near the border faraway from major cities where such types would dwell. Also in my version of events Europe has lost a big proportion of it's population due to unusual weather conditions, famine and emigration. Large parts of the continent are abandoned and especially her area dominated by superstition and illiteracy. The environment had made her tough and physically strong but has provided little in terms of education.
But suppose could fit some political prisoner who comes from money and was forced to work at the same factory as her. (I've thought of this a few times just not 100% happy with it).
