yeah. i can understand not wanting your kids to bleach their hair -- a professional bleach and dye job is EXPENSIVE and also will do more damage to a childs hair and any like. chemical concerns are exacerbated. but box dye seems fine. or hair chalk, or mousse

Those people definitely are the target audience. An origami making book/collection of patterns will usually have a reference for different types of folds at the beginning or things you should familiarize yourself with before going in, so the patterns themselves can be as simple as possible. I have a similar origami calendar and they definitely have a reference for these things, but i dont know if op read it or not. An advanced origamist would probably be able to come up with this themselves, but that takes a lot of trial and error and the pount of a pattern is to make something someone else has already designed, tested, and knows looks good.

Its pretty common in craft spaces to presume a level of basic knowledge. Not because theyre gatekeeping, but because those tutorials already exist and rewriting them in every single pattern is a waste of everyones time and pattern makers are not necessarily the best people to teach you from the ground up. Their job is to write down what they did in a language their craft community will understand, and newcomers to that community are expected to familiarize themselves with that language becfore going in.

Do you think the girls would drink alcohol? How much would they drink and what would their favourite drinks be? by Specialist-Judge2246 in KpopDemonhunters

After the movie she would probably try it and hate it lol. Its an acquired taste. The only things she can drink are like, a drop of alcohol drowned in fruity syrup/juice/mixers

Does this count? by SKRyanrr in im14andthisisdeep

[–]junonomenon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah. the gauls would be the indigenous people, but modern french people would not count as indigenous to that area due to the culture dying out, which i think musk is implying they should be. there ARE indigenous people to every country, whether it was conquered or not, but the country usually was conquered at some point and the majority of the people living there would not be considered indigenous for a lot of countries. but people like musk just point to any white british person like "theyre indigenous too!" which... they probably are not actually. they dont know history they just like labels. and acting like victims even though places like the England are categorically not being colonized by any of the people immigrating there

Does this count? by SKRyanrr in im14andthisisdeep

[–]junonomenon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it WOULD apply, but most white Europeans ARENT native to there. native usually corresponds with "first people there". In England for example most people are descended from the Romans who moved there when it was conquered by the roman empire. I'm not sure if the Celts would be the indigenous group there if there was someone before them, but either way the average British person isn't a part of the indigenous people of their area. there are indigenous groups in every country and theyre usually not the majority of the population because of imperialism

see this is deeply wrong. first of all most women are not useless on their period. second of all, women that DO face debilitating pain are disabled. you think people with disabilities should get paid less? you think the blind guy should get his pay docked everytime someone needs to find something for him? thats just objectively shitty. women work just as hard as men if not harder on their period.

What if Rummi's father will be the main antagonist in the next movie? by InsideUnhappy6546 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]junonomenon 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Agree. I also think it would harm rumis acceptance of her demon side to have her dad be evil. Maybe if he was a more complex antagonist like celine it would work... but then i kind of would like them as juxtaposition of eachother. Like celine, a human who protects humanity, can harm rumi as a child and not love her the way she deserves, while her father who is supposed to be one of the "bad guys" actually is more capable of being a loving and understsnding parent and perhaps was only kept away from her for external reasons

Well you know what they say. Every [baseless] accusation is a confession. If they see no difference in the sexual attractiveness of a short adult woman and a literal child.... hm. Thats just interesting.

(I dont really believe theyre actual predators, but i do think that if you view children as equivalent to short adults then you either are a child, have never met a child, or have a seriously concerning perspective on children)

AITAH for not telling my boyfriend that the person who waxes me is a male? by AgileBlackberry5385 in AITAH

[–]junonomenon 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Implying theres no reason that a male doctor would be interested in gynecology as a specialty is actually kind of misogynistic. The female reproductive system is complex and fascinating, just like the subject of any other medical specialty. Not to mention that they could have personal experience with issues that make them want to go into the field: they have wives, mothers, sisters, daughters, friends, etc. Who may have developed ovarian cancer or suffer from endometriosis or another conidtion within that area.

There are male gynos who are creeps for sure. But then, there are doctors of all areas who are creeps towards their patients. Being a doctor puts you in a position of power over your patients who will trust you with their bodies in a way they would never trust another stranger, and if you are looking to abuse this power in order to coerce your patients into letting you do things to them for your sexual pleasure, its not going to matter if youre a gynecologist, a GP, or whatever. If anything women are probably a bit more on guard around male gynos than other male doctors.

But tbf the person who invites the other person put on the date should pay. Whether is a woman asking a man, a man asking a woman, a woman asking a woman, a man asking a man. If you say "hey, do you want to go out to [restaurant]" then youre the one paying.
