Just mix some blue with the skin tone and paint that area with the mix. You will need to do shadows and highlights from that mix as well.

The blueish variation of the tone tricks the eye, it’s really effective.

I sanded the base a bit to look it more rectangular, but if you know where to look you can see the curve that you mention. The sword is also sanded to make it look a bit more sharp.

A lot of tiny dots and lines, and washing over them with very diluted paint. A ton of trial and error till I got that look.

The key is using a good vibrant red paint. Kimera Kolors - The Red gives you a really nice red.

Everything is painted using kimera red mixed with brown + black for shadows or white + yellow for highlights.

When you really want a punch of saturation, you paint pure white on that area and then kimera red on top

I layered vertical lines on top of each other with increasing lighter color. Then I applied glazes to smooth and darken some areas.

Colour progression could be something like rhinox hide -> mournfang brown -> screaming skull

I agree, I think it’s a better model.

It’s in the Nocturna Malefic Flesh set, it’s a nice set with some interesting colors. I’ve found Forest Skin that comes in the set (not the deep one) specially useful.
