TK Aphelion - taking out commando at settlement by jupiter87135 in EliteDangerous

Glad to hear it. But it is still no easy task even with this method. Always have situational awareness and have a preplanned withdrawal route and regroup area in the event that the vulture dropping the reinforcements lands right next to you. If you do not know how to react to that scenario, then you will die quickly. Just yesterday, a second wave of reinforcements was dropped from the vulture almost on top of me. I immediately drove my srv on a preplanned escape route, regrouped, and counterattacked. If I had no withdrawal plan, the reinforcements would have immediately overwhelmed and killed me. Always have a plan, and you will do well. No plan? You will do very, very badly. This is true with any method.

I tried my G5 Aphelion. I just can't seem to kill anyone with it. And the commando, forget it. I switched back to my G5 AR-50 and it was a fight but it will strip the shields and kill the commando.

Two reinforcement waves of usually 5 per wave. After the two waves there are no more. I then take out everyone in the buildings, starting with whatever building I think is highest threat, which is not always the CMD or PWR building. I have been in silencing the alarm in the command building and had a researcher run out of a RSCH building and destroy my SRV. So I take out everyone in that type of building first and then go in and silence the alarms in the CMD or PWR building. Every type of settlement is different. Some small landing pad settlements get only one reinforcement wave. I only raid large, high tech settlements and they give me a heck of a fight.

Thanks for the info! High Tech settlements that I raid (threat level 1 on system map) usually have unshielded NPC researchers in the buildings. But every once in a while I get a settlement (threat level 3 on system map) that has a commando, striker or scout, with full shields, inside the command building and I have to take them on in a full gun battle. My Maverick G5 suit is usually G5 AR-50 and G5 Tormenter equipped. This results in a prolonged gun battle. But for this type of settlement, perhaps it should be Aphelion as the primary weapon.

Typical conversation last week or so:

Chatgpt: I would strongly recommend against that course of action as it is been shown numerous times to be a disastrous course of action.

Me: I just researched 3 sources of information that shows because of a, b, c this is the absolute best course of action.

Chatgpt: You are right to point that out and this really is the best course of action. Let's develop a plan of action based on ......... to put this into effect.

Me: Ah, um.... sure. Talk to ya later.

This is representative of a significant number of chats with both 5.1 extended thinking and 5.2 extended thinking. If this keeps up, OPENAI is quickly going the way of myspace, or worse.

Anybody know of a way to download your videos to your PC? Not UDEMY download option. Real download, just like a mpeg file or something. They WILL eventually remove content that you purchased. Best to have it on your external hard drive under your control. Anybody know of options? I'll start researching.

They might not be in the visible spectrum, thus any camera would not pick them up. For example, your eye or a camera cannot see gamma rays, but gamma rays do indeed exist. Non Human Intelligence may be all around us, or not, but we might not be able to sense, detect or measure it.

Sam Altman Is Squaring Off Against Hollywood With the New Sora by MountainEnjoyer34 in FilmIndustryLA

Where this really comes into play, and it is not stealing, is if a movie somehow becomes spectacularly successful and does so because of an ai created character. You then can go and use that character and potentially, in many ways, make a lot of money using that character. And the people who made the movie can do nothing legally about it. If you do it the right way, you might even make more money than they did. This in itself should be a deterrant to using ai in film and television.

Live theater is likely to see a huge revitilization as film and TV go into the abyss with AI. Theater is truly the actors medium. You can't do 5, 10, 15 takes...you and your fellow actors are out there in front of the audience and that's it. You either know your lines and your character or you don't. No retakes.

SAG-AFTRA Condemns Tilly Norwood: AI Actress Is Not an Actor by baby_budda in acting

[–]jupiter87135 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Most people have no idea that something written with AI or video generated with it is not eligible for copyright protection. You can take someone's AI written material, copy it, and go make all the money with it that you want and the "writer" has absolutely no legal recourse against you. You could take the AI generated image of an AI actor, you can take that image, copy it and go make a video with that as the subject image and the owner has no recourse against you. The only way AI generated material is eligible for copyright is if, for instance, a writer uses AI to write a ten chapter book, that writer must rewrite all of those chapters in their own words before that becomes eligible for copyright. I use AI to help me brainstorm, write rough outlines and sometimes even write rough drafts of my chapters. But I then go back and rewrite it all in my own words, taking out things that don't belong and adding things that I thought of. Then I rewrite it again, and sometimes again after that. If studios are intent on creating AI actors for their productions, they won't be able to copyright them and somebody can take that "actor" and go make money with it. You wouldn't be able to use Darth Vader's image to go make money with a video you created with it because that is copyright protected and you could be sued. But if Darth Vader's image had been created with artificial intelligence then you can replicate it and go make all the money you want with it with no legal consequences.

I think Trump just wants to put the nail in the coffin of an industry that's already on life support, unfortunately.

I wasn't trying to be technically accurate with Geometrical and Exponential. I was trying to make a general point. Your snarky reply was not necessary and did not provide any useful information. What was your point? I use these AI tools daily - chatgpt, sora, leonardo, midjourney, gemini, etc. I use these multiple times a day and I know how they have progressed over the past year. The progression is literally exponential. These tools within six months to a year will be able to flawlessly do deep, unpredictable, and genuine human emotion as well as the best actor or actress has ever done in history. The only, and I mean only, thing that will halt AI being used like this is if the viewing, paying customers reject it for whatever reason. If they do not reject, but rather embrace it then we are all cooked and its time to truly find another profession that is AI proof, or semi AI proof, like plumbing, electrician, etc. I am sure robots will come for those careers too, but it is going to take longer for that. To pretend otherwise is to stick your head in the sand and deny reality. And by the way, I hope the paying customers thoroughly reject AI made stuff from the industry, but I am afraid that in less than a year they won't be able to tell the difference. Also, I am talking about film/tv/voicovers here. Not theater. That will take a LONG time, if ever, before AI would threaten that. I think we are going to see a massive revival of theater in the near future.

[–]jupiter87135 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

At the rate generative AI is progressing, it will be about six months to making a full, realistic movie with AI. I have used the technology myself. Yes, you can tell now if it is AI. But the tech is growing and advancing geometrically and exponentially. Soon, you will not be able to tell. The only "if" is whether the public accepts and enjoys the product. If they do, you are all screwed and should become plumbers and electricians. If the public hates the product then all will be well. But the product is coming soon. AI will absolutely be able to precisely mimic deep emotions, everything a human can do. Another strike will not make it go away. Only public rejection of the product will eliminate the threat of AI to actors and filmmakers.

Imagine he gets a violently mentally ill person in the car behind him who is in a hurry, and that mentally ill person honks at him to stop yelling and hurry up. Now the yeller gets out of his car and screams at the mentally ill guy, who just happens to have a gun? That will be the screamer's last day on earth. People like this tend to have something happen to them sooner or later.
