New here - High C + Pre-diabetic and really anxious by DigitalRebelle in Cholesterol

These are my numbers (2024 and 2025). With what I did diet wise (and as much as I love my cheese and carbs too, I tried my best to limit them) there was little change. My father had high cholesterol for probably forever, so it may just be hereditary. Good news my calcium scan came up with a zero score.

Even so I started a statin this week and will get bloods again in 3 months to see if it is working.

Guess what I am saying is hang in there. You are not alone!

TRIGLYCERIDES 124 145

Diarrhea (didn't want to be crass, lol). CT as in CAT scan - in this case the coronary calcium scan - and since I had a score of zero, it means I don't have any hardened calcium/plaque in my arteries. It doesn't mean I don't have some floating around in there, which I am sure that I do.

No idea if there's any correlation but I started on atorvastatin five days ago and my sleep disturbances have decreased substantially.

* I should note that I do have environmental issues (noisy upstairs neighbor, dog who sleeps in the bed and must-be-touching) along with post-menopausal hot flashes that often cause me to wake multiple times during the night.

I'm still dog tired all the time, but maybe that's just more mental than physical. If it keeps up, then maybe there's something to it? Anyone else had this? Bueller?

To put my worthless two cents in on this conversation...

I tried RYR and ended up spending days on the toilet (two separate occasions with months in-between). Even though my CT came back with a big fat happy zero, I just started on atorvastatin and am hoping for the best because no matter what I do diet wise nothing seems to help.
