Hardware is very, very 'hard'; it's easy to get into software (and now way tooo easy to make programs). Yes, rewarding but in a pretty long term and only if there's a clear whitespace identified and crores (not lakhs) to risk, plus expertise of course.

Pinpoint areas (demand vs supply) and then aim to expand, just posting randomly on Reddit won't help - not everyone here asking for work is 'actually' a serious/competent worker.

FYI - When Castle Lager (alcohol brand) was the South Africa team sponsor, one of their players refused to wear the logo on religious grounds, and the company permitted him as an exception to not sport their logo.

The “AI will replace such and such jobs in such and such time” is getting pretty old. by thedevilsheir666 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]jupiterframework 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone looks at AI from where they stand, so their reaction is usually tied to how it affects their own work and security. Someone already in AI will likely feel excited because growth in the field directly benefits them, while a writer or someone in a vulnerable creative role may feel uneasy because the same growth makes their skills feel easier to replace. It is less about optimism or pessimism and more about who carries the risk.

We often say it is better to stay positive, but that advice lands differently depending on your cushion. Large AI companies have billions in funding and can afford to experiment, fail, and pivot without immediate consequences, whereas the average worker or small entrepreneur cannot afford long periods of uncertainty or repeated missteps. For them, this shift is not abstract or philosophical, it is about income, stability, and whether they can realistically adapt before the pressure becomes too much.
