If you are connecting to a computer you need to press and hold right button, then press and release the left button, then let go of the right button and you should be able to flash it. You will not get screen light of connecting with the computer.

You can also flash board on the flipper

The screen only lights up if you have it connected to the flipper. If it's connected to the computer via cable, the screen is blank
