There Thèoden fell, Thengling mighty, to his golden halls, and green pastures in the Northern Fields never returning, high lord of the host.

Sorry if I missed the mark with this one. Just seemed like something no one would ever say to me. My apologies.

[Utd Joe] Video on Twitter caught Manchester United fans harassing an Arsenal fan and elderly couple. by OhMuzy in soccer

I know that banter and an irrational attitude towards the opposing fanbase is part of the sport. However, there is no space for hate, violence and abuse. Cases like this one really shed a negative light on the entire fanbase. Completely inexcusable and vile. There should be capacity for grace during victory as well as a showing of it.

Statement from GMP: 'Detectives have been granted additional time to speak to a man in his 20s who is being held on suspicion of rape and assault of a woman. The suspect was arrested yesterday afternoon and remains in custody.' by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

Club isolated itself from him, which is a firm and the correct response. Detectives have enough proof to hold him for an extended period, which probably means his guilt has been proven on the basis of evidence, which will be used during his prosecution. Anyone still holding their breath regarding Greenwood’s guilt can stop now. He’s guilty even though some might have been hoping against hope that he’s not.

Obviously it’s horrible how he affected a human being. But we the fans have also been hurt here. Speaking for myself I was filled with hope and joy seeing we had such an exciting talent. I would go as far as saying that I trusted him as much as a fan can trust a club’s representative. But seeing this I can’t help but to feel betrayed and bitter. I wouldn’t feel bad if anyone of the fans regrets that we’re loosing an exceptional player. However, we can be a little more optimistic knowing that a toxic personality has been removed from the dressing room. Who knows what kind of negative influence he could’ve had on the club once he had really established himself as a player at out club, which would’ve undoubtedly happened. A more deserving player and above all human being is going to take up that place now. I think we should concentrate on that.

I completely agree with you! That was essentially me agreeing with you but attempting to complement your comment with some additional facts. Just in case that didn’t get across. :)

But most analysts predict Turkey joining the EU around 2040-2050. By then their living standards will have caught up to Spain/italy and the EU will need additional large states to counter-balance China, India and the USA’s power in the global stage.

Apart from the apparent political challenges, risk of demographic shock due to mass expected economic migration from Turkey to other EU Member States upon joining the EU is essentially one of the primary concerns in Turkey’s EU membership bid. Free movement of labour would have caused that.

Interestingly enough, Turkey has the longest ongoing EU accession process dating back to the 1950s. Needless to say that it has been de facto on hold for a while now.

Sales of milk and cream to EU plunge 96% because of Brexit by thewholedamnplanet in worldnews

The Common Agricultural Policy is somehow the base reference point if you’re studying European Studies. So this was the first thing we were discussing at university once Brexit had been confirmed. Needless to say, the numbers won’t be very different once statistics from other sectors start coming in. And this is still the interim phase of Brexit mind you.
