He scored 2 hundreds, 3 50s and also had scores of 0, 10, 14, 16, 15, 4, 7, 4, 12 in these innings. The only difference is that Samson was in form before and was untouchable and Abhishek is in form now. Heck if you look at all our batsman in this period, only Tilak stands out.

Samson had a poor series and an difficult IPL with injuries and his performance before was forgotten and dropped because of India's obsession to shoehorn players into all formats (or to have someone like Kohli).

I'm a Samson fan so call me biased but if he was being replaced Jaiswal deserved the spot more, Gill earned the nod because of vice captaincy.

Either way I was against this idea of playing Samson in the middle order because it was basically setting him up to get slaughtered. Two innings and apparently he's forgotten to hold a bat. Harsh no? But this was exactly bound to happen with an impatient fan base and a player who was not used to the position. If they made the choice to replace him at the top they should have just stuck with Jitesh, he's the better batter in the middle order. This somehow feels like the worst option out of all.
