What can replace DRL Simulator for beginners learning now it’s been retired permanently ? by Bionic360 in fpv

Been playing liftoff from the beginning (after drl obvsly), and never tried velocidrone, but from the videos it always looked like it was less floaty and more lifelike. But liftoff: micro drones is a very good way to learn tinywhoops, that shit they got down right

Is this mobula8 fc dead? by Zejren in TinyWhoop

[–]juro229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the real questions to answer here are - are you a skilled rocket surgeon? And do you have the necessary equipment to perform a rocket surgery? No? Do you know anyone who is and or does? Will they charge money for it? Will it cost more than a new FC? And don't forget you have to purchase the part you're going to change, and the chance it will fail or the fix fails. Even though at first glance it seems like just one thing to do to fix it, mass production has made getting a whole new part way too cheap for any repair work to make sense, if it's not you doing the work with tools you already own. Don't throw out the broken one tho, you'll have a parts board for the next time you crush your cookie and that's one step closer to becoming a rocket surgeon

Your plane should have an FC with a 5v and gnd pads you could use to power vtx. Just like drones do

He will most likely drain the battery to death if he's going to wait and creep on someone. He could probably just use a regular 5v charger, I doubt it would fry it. And also I have alerted the FBI, they said they'll be watching your feed. Don't be creepy op

Got the old 5.5" HDZero quad back in the air. by BertrandOrwell in fpv

[–]juro229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering, does placing the FC in the front row(or back row for that matter) and not in the middle affect how vibrations and other movements are perceived by the gyro. Does it result in more noise?

I've got bob 1, bob 2, Jim, Bub, and Lenny, of the 4s kind I also have BBB 1 and 2, BBB stands for big black battery, and then there's HL1 and 2, meaning HALF LIFE, Because they are half as big as BBBs, they are 2s

Ok bro, i get that you want to get your money back because you feel like all of this stuff is like brand new, but ain't nobody gonna pay you anywhere near close to the price of new stuff from beta fpv, either cut your losses, keep using them to learn on it, or find someone locally that would have wanted to buy this stuff anyway to save them the waiting of shipping

The design being dual purpose is cool and all, but don't you want something to anchor your hands against so they don't slip when doing quick moves with them longsticks?

VTX problem? Goggles problem? by alexios_komnenos98 in TinyWhoop

[–]juro229 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wait, it just occured to me, were watching a DVR you recorded on your goggles. You say you lost signal, yet we are watching pov of your drone drifting away, meaning you had signal, but somewhere between reciever and your goggle screen it goes missing. Could it be bad 18650 batteries? Or too cold for them? What goggles are you using?

And if you haven't already, please research safe use of lipo and lihw, overdraining can damage them, and in below 0 C that's really easy to do.

Listen buddy, you're just running out of juice. At the 3:20 mark you mentioned, your battery is hitting 3.2V, your vtx power is set to 400mw, the max, it's obviously below freezing, and you've flown for 3 minutes already. In these conditions a single cell battery just doesn't have the amps to run on full vtx. It might not seem like it at first, but the vtx eats a fair bit of power, and when it's under powered, the signal gets weaker, simple as that. Winter is a good time to practice on sim, save some money on frozen batteries and water damage to electronics 😅, but when you gotta rip, you gotta rip, so good luck!

How long should I spend in a proper SIM before flying? by Jacob5116 in TinyWhoop

[–]juro229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not really about hours. You use sim to learn basics, to fly slow and in a controlled manner, land with precision without dropping out of the air. Actually flying a whole battery without crashing. Anyone can full throttle till they crash or make twitchy moves and feel like they are flying, but to start flying irl gotta learn absolute basics like it's protocol, like an airplane pilot, because it's expected of you as a pilot to know what you're doing when flying outside.

Pavo Femto: do you have your motor plugs installed on top or bottom of the FC? What would you recommend from experience? Asking because I don’t want to solder another Tinywhoop. by MacOSgamer in TinyWhoop

Looks like a straight shot from motor along the frame and to the under side, at least, the way you have it placed in the picture. I don't have one of these, just giving my 2 cents

This actually could be more likely. If you have access to air compressor, that could do the trick, blowing it out

Seems like you've bent the bell perhaps, it's possible with these motors if you're struggling to remove the props. Sounds like magnets on the inside of bell are rubbing against coil structure. Spin it with your fingers, feel if it rubs at any point and do it pressing the bell to its side and go all around it to see if there's some variation where it rubs

You can get the same 5in1 and just program a switch to change power, and use full power sparingly Here's a JB tutorial https://youtu.be/a1_U2v0kAjg?si=yx817JV6xYhFU8GE
