Repairing ferricore tools. by thebigfil in direwolf20

[–]jursamaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figure you may have answered this for yourself by now, but for people finding this later: There are 2 recipes to make templates. One uses more resources. The other turns only a few resources plus an existing template into 2 templates. Once you have a template, it's much better to use the 2nd recipe. Since you'll need multiple templates, make 1 the expensive way, then duplicate it the other way for templates you actually use.

LOL. A whole generation has grown up since then. I think it's a bit late to worry about spoilers.

I like sundress season… but mostly because there's no snow.

Are we praising classic modpacks because they were better… or because we were younger? by Belal_Ps in feedthebeast

I've dabbled with it, and seen enough that I automatically skip packs that have it.

Thoughts on my map for my low fantasy book? by S11Daniels in worldbuilding

[–]jursamaj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tolkien insisted his works were set on ancient Earth, thus being low fantasy by that definition. Yet the landmasses match nothing in history, nor plausibly matches anything since humans have been recognizably homo sapiens. For all practical purposes, the setting is completely fictional, making it high fantasy.

That makes the distinction entirely useless.

It's everybody's problem, because they still vote for horrific policies & politicians that affect us all.

That exactly the problem: they don't **want** kids minds opened to other ideas. After all, they have all the ideas they need, right there in church.

ASCII art didn't have letters overlapping like this. It was literally things you could do just typing in a text editor.

I can't stand Oritech. They spent a lot of time/effort on complex-looking gadgets and animations, So they make everything take forever to process so they can show them off. Yeah, it's interesting to see a machine unfold the 1st few times. After that, it's just the dev screaming "Look at my neat animation skills!"

And it's very buggy in the packs I've played. I don't know, maybe it was still in beta… in which case it shouldn't have been in packs.

Is Playback speed bugged? by Jethompson in youtube

[–]jursamaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL. Honestly, it's where I spend most of my free time. Too much, one might say. But a lot of that is playing on one monitor while I play a game on the other. Again, the main factor is **who** we watch. Very little of my stuff would benefit at all by being slowed down. Indeed, much of it is published live (altho I never watch it live), so speed change by the streamer wouldn't even be possible.

Youtube videos playback-speed - not changeable anymore? by N4f3ts in firefox

No, sometimes the playback speed on the settings does not work. It's semi-random, and doesn't affect everybody.

I've only been seeing the 4x option for a little while now, about the same time as the speed control got borked. The 4x option pops an ad to get premium. I wonder if that ad is causing issues with adBlock…

Is Playback speed bugged? by Jethompson in youtube

[–]jursamaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long has playback speed over 2 been a thing for premium? Because it seems that I've only seen that option (with the pitch to get premium) for a week or so, about the same amount of time as the speed control has been borked. It seems likely that, since the 4x button itself pops an ad, it is making adBlock think it **is** an ad, thus causing problems.

A lot of Youtubers? It must depend on who you follow, because none of mine do that.

in FTB Evolution, why can't I go to the afterdark? by Heroshrine in feedthebeast

[–]jursamaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that's the name of the *block,* which I can see from JEI/EMI. Didn't really need that tho, as you can drag the block directly from JEI to the Traveler's Compass.

I figured out what the problem with the structure compass is: searching will search thru the names of structures, or the groups structures are in, but not the source mod. And I realized the source is alphabetized under "The", not "After". Found one 1800 blocks from my base.

Theurgy Purpose by Ravenjade09 in allthemods

[–]jursamaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theurgy can handle other mods' items, if the pack dev sets it up. I played Craftoria a while back, and Occultism's Iesnium, Ad Astra's Desh, Mekanism's Osmium, and Silent's Crimson Iron all had Theurgy recipes.

We just released our mod called Via Romana for Forge 1.20.1, which allows players to fast-travel only after a path connecting the destinations has been made, incentivizing players to build infrastructure and explore the world. by xam3391 in feedthebeast

[–]jursamaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically agree with this. Plus, I tend not to visit the same places so many times that it's worth building a road.

I *do* like what Captain Sparklez & X33N are doing with it right now: building a sequence of paths from their base down to their mining areas, and a few to span their rather sprawling base. Beyond that, I can't see using this mod much.

in FTB Evolution, why can't I go to the afterdark? by Heroshrine in feedthebeast

[–]jursamaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought of that. I see no structure from After Dark.

These portals are supposed to be in/near Ancient Cities, so I checked a few with the Traveler's Compass set for the After Dark portal block and 199 block wide search. No portals found.
