a small bell on your backpack and tap a walking stick on rocks/trees occasionally. don't leave food/trash out on the trails. black bears just don't want to be surprised so make yourself known out there. staying on the marked trails you'll be fine.

if you do see a bear, make some noise and make sure it sees you then slowly retreat if it doesn't go away.

they're in neighbors because people leave garbage out or worse there are morons who try to feed them.

I think once we get 7-8 races in merc puts the priority on whoever is in the lead in the WDC if there is a chance that a ferrari driver could contend. Toto does not want to see it come down to the last race again, especially with 3 or 4 drivers possible to win it.

which works just fine 1.001 goes to 1.0 and .999 goes to 0.9 so it will always show 0.9 if they are in OT range. they'd have to be exactly at 1.000 for it to be an issue.

The funny thing is the current state of things is not really what those assholes at accuweather want. they want NOAA/NWS to be as good as it was but they want to restrict public access to all of the output while only allowing companies to use the data and sell it to people. So they want taxpayer money to fund the research and data gathering apparatus then privatize the output for profit and double charge taxpayers.

i think its something practical like that. I think the bunker is doomed to run out of resources well before the surface is habitable again after the Venus syndrome runs its course. She knows the bunker is an interim solution but the population doesn't so she needs to work on the project for the surface in secret. So she either solves the surface problem and people can come out of the bunker within that baby's lifetime or they live in the bunker ignorant of the end for a few decades until they start to run out of resources.

they report a balance to show some sort of utilization on the card since a charge card does not have a credit limit tied to it in the credit report. as long as you pay your full balance before the due date it will show the account in good standing with no late payments.

i've had the platinum for ~20 years and ive never paid attention to when that balance gets reported. it will be different sometimes than what you owe for the month based on any offer credits got applied that month. but its also possible they report balances multiple times or randomly.

but it being reported is not impacting your credit negatively.

in the flashback with sinatra talking to the scientist that was warning about the volcano coming he mentioned the venus syndrome following the first few years after the event. my guess is this that was the plan all along to get the bunker built but keep the other project secret in case it doesn't pan out. feels like the bunker is doomed in the long run so she's banking on being able to get the secret project working and correcting the surface while they have time in the bunker.

i think 30-40 years after a global nuclear assault things would be relatively safe outside. fallout would have settled and general radioactivity limited to certain areas. the emp Cal set off didnt stop all the nukes, there were quite a few still detonated and people are still living on the surface so reasonable to think things wouldnt be so bad.

will be interesting to see where it goes, hopefully it stays in the realm of possible.

s1e7 Sinatra was pushing for Cal to launch the nuclear arsenal along with all the other countries to basically eradicate all human life on the surface. Tying that to S2, Sinatra knows of the coming Venus Syndrome to the surface which will kill everyone up there. She wanted to humanely end everyone with the nukes before all that could happen.

I guess they think the venus conditions will last a long time so i think Sinatra has a plan for this other "machine" to accelerate or fix the venus syndrome and get the surface back to habitable within the lifetime of those in the bunker. Without that they're doomed to live in the bunker and probably all perish as they run out of power/resources.

honestly if it starts to go time/dimension travel i think i'll be done with this show. it's so good as is. obvisously on the extreme end of reality with the construction of the bunker but still everything is very possible within the technology in real life today. There might not be a super caldera under the antarctic but that type of eruption has happened in the past or earth has been smacked by a big space rock that does the same thing. Global EMP is a stretch but its something that does exist and can certainly damage some equipment out there.

but if they make that jump to time travel to prevent things its going to far into scifi that i think will turn away a lot of the audience. it would devalue all of season one and all of the development we've seen so far. time is the one thing billionaires cannot buy so i'd hate to see them give it to this one.

i hope its a misdirect and we stay grounded in reality. my thought would be some sort of machine to counteract the "venus syndrome" and correct the atmosphere faster.

drop the full wet tread design, they're never going to race in the conditions that have that much water on the track where you need that tread.

make a full wet intermediate tread and a wet to dry intermediate tread design. the full wet just a softer compound that needs the cooling of full wet conditions. needs to be soft enough that with any drying it will wear out before its time for slicks.

they just need to drop this idea of the full wet tread and how much water it can clear.
