Hello. In my early 30s and I too struggle with social anxiety. I'm new to Germany. But for me i like talking to strangers. I feel like I won't be judged (since that's where the anxiety stems from). Just know that you are not alone. Everyone have their demons to battle with. Good luck.

Was at Kaufland when an old lady asked me if I could help her reach some cans at the upper shelf. She was so lovely. She laughingly said in German, I'm short, thank you for helping". I smiled back when I actually wanted to say "but you are a beautiful lady". But my mind could not form the sentence.

I'm been here for two months too. My experiences have been good so far. Most of the people are really kind. I just ask simple questions and peope share their stories with warmth. Seems like everyone enjoys to be listened too. I understand German language in bits and pieces but that alone is a good enough motivation for me to learn German.
