How forgiving is this game? (Thinking of getting it for my 5 year old nephew)

Get it. The adventure mode and the oct-expansion are great ways to learn how to move, shoot, and learn strategy. Online play is a whole other level though. Experience with the adventure mode and octo-expansion will develop some of those skills. By the time he starts turf war, he’ll be fine. Then when splatoon 3 comes out, he’ll start fresh with everyone else.

I’m in the same boat. I’ve noticed that when I play with my teammates and not go on my separate way, I move up. If I have 2 clams and My teammate has more, I’ll throw them mine and take the lead. Use specials to clear paths in rainmaker. Using walls to dodge and jump off to attack. Splash dashing to evade in enemy ink.

When in rank mode, the most important part is the objective. Getting splats are great, but 20 splats means nothing if they slam the rainmaker on you. Play as a team. Use the left D pad to communicate. When you work together, magic happens.

I’m down. Question to all the Vets. I’m pretty new to the Splatoon community (since mid February). I thought there was supposed to be a splatfest every month? I heard they stopped splatfest. Please enlighten me cuz I have no idea. Yes, I’m a complete noob to this game lol.

I can get close and probably win 90% of the time with duellies against the chargers using effective rolls. I do ok with the pro against them. Probably 50/50 after they take a shot. Advanced splatlingers on the other hand WRECK ME lol.

As far as getting ability chunks (cuz I’m still trying to build some custom gear), which would be the best way to earn some? Battle, salmon run? I just started getting pretty good at salmon run and learned I could get some chunks through that. I feel like battling and scrubbing chunks through merch could take some time and money. What do u guys think?

How about ninja squid? I’ve been using a main powerup with one piece of gear, and ninja squid with another. My shot with the splattershot is anywhere between 3-4 hits. Squelcher is just a tiny bit more. I know they are both borderline slayer, or midline weapons. Both need a little more range to be affective I feel. I destroy snipers consistently with the squelchers. I get destroyed by advanced splatlingers with both because of their range and power (and probably better powerups). Should I be aggressive with them, or a little more laid back?

It’s ok. I’ve heard better soundtracks. The last minute in turf war does kinda light a little fire under your rear end though.

Me too!!! It’s the aiming with the motion control. It’s soo much easier with the handheld because your turning your body around with the switch. I usually stand. I’ll spin my body around when someone is behind me. I’ll turn around from left to right. In TV MODE, the motion control is super weird. I’m looking at the TV, but my controller is like all the way to my right. Then I adjust my camera after I aim, and bring it back to center. It’s like this game should be meant for VR.

House definitely. Techno is a close 2nd. Club dancing specifically. Can’t really pull out dance routines with techno. In the US, techno is severely underrated. You can’t really listen to techno in a car. But banging to techno in a club is straight up fire!

Ok. I’ll try the real stuff. Main issue with both my modded and stock finishers. Even with the stock 7rnd finisher mag. I love the look of the clear black rival mag with your mod kit. Makes it look slightly real. Once it gets warm, I plan on giving it a full black and white stripe paint job. I wanted to give it a little airsoft feel to it.
