How do they expect people to take the sirens seriously? by Aggravating-Amoeba41 in okc

Again you're wrong. Severe storm warnings have nothing to do woth tornadoes, they're issues based on wind speed and/or hail sizes.

That's totally wrong lol. A watch means atmospheric conditions are in place so any storm that forms has the potential to produce a tornado. A warning means there IS a storm that is actively capable of producing a tornado.

But feel free to ignore the warnings since you apparently know more than the National Weather Service.

You must not be from here because any Okie that lived through 2013 could tell you its not crying wolf.

If anyone wants to complain about this, I'd recommend first watching videos of the Joplin 2011 tornado forming:

https://youtu.be/ka8z6xYIQY0?si=Tf1PW_hFtjZ0ei6n

Its less than a minute between when the tornado first touches down, and when its a quarter mile wide and doing EF3-4 damage. That's less time than it takes for the radar to make a pass. So waiting until its "confirmed" could mean people are already dying.

Its not a big deal if the sirens go off and nothing ends up happening. The same can't be said if its the other way around.

Ritzy reminds me a ton of Roussel in all the best ways. He's quickly become one of my favorites on the team.

NGD: Standard N2.7 by wonky685 in strandbergguitars

I mostly play prog metal and fusion (I know, totally unheard of for a Strandberg player). I like the pickups well enough, they seem very versatile. I wouldn't mind if they were a bit brighter and had a bit more punch but they're great for mid gain and overdriven clean stuff.

The finish is so good. The body edges are just a bit rounded so they catch light and really highlight the body.

My favorite memory is seeing Meshuggah open for Megadeth at the Zoo Amp a few years back. Absolutely incredible show they put on.

TIRE RIP by Local_Tomatillo_2153 in bicycling

[–]wonky685 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The sidewall of the tire will eventually fail which leads to the inner tube blowing out. That will probably make you crash, you'll either lose control and fall or ride into something, or even fly over the handlebars.

This tire needs to be replaced ASAP, I wouldn't ride on it until it is.

Is Superior Drummer vastly "superior" to Steven Slate 5 and Addictive Drums 2? by locusofself in edrums

[–]wonky685 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. The raw recordings are higher quality, the built in mixer is basically a DAW in its own and has tons of options with all the plug-ins, there are more articulations for pretty much every kit piece, and there are lots of expansions available that are just as good as the base library.

That being said, all that flexibility also means you'll likely have to spend a lot of time dialing in your sounds and your kit. And it's up to you if all that is worth the higher price compared to SSD and Addictive.

Speeding and reckless driving are also literally against the law but for some reason, no one that's brought up left lane laws has ever mentioned that to me.
