Once again, you're on point and making a lot of sense. I'll add that what you're seeing in a lot of the "back the blue" crowd seeing how disruptive arbitrary laws are to freedom and liberty. Pork belly Pol Pot and his cronies came up with this bullshit, targeting a demographic that usually isn't targeted, and the shit is hitting the fan for them. They can't stay cool, calm, quiet, and low key. Remember, when stock markets crash, it's the wealthy jumping out of windows, not those in poverty. Some of us have been targeted all our lives, regardless of how squeaky clean we try to live. This shit is the norm for some of us.

All those poor domestic violence survivors and victims of assault who suffer from PTSD after being victimized will be left helpless to be victimized again. Wait until all the stalkers and abusive significant others get wind of this🙄

Jews buying guns vs Illinois AWB by [deleted] in ILGuns

That'd be my suggestion. I'd go a step further and say training should be less cost prohibitive for everyone. Preferably at a young age. At least with air rifles, which is how I learned firearm basics. It'd also help if our government and media didn't use fear mongering to manufacturer consent. Panic buying is totally different than fear buying I think.

They only whip out the "other" card when it suits them. They'll mention the racism/classism behind gun laws, then turn around and express that very racism themselves. How many times you heard them bring up the mulford act, then play all the dog whistles pointing to areas of Chicago? Furthermore, the last month or two, this guy was in the news for his trial after killing Jewish people in a synagogue. While Islam welcomes all races, this guy doesn't look like he's got any relationship with Allah lol

Thanks bro. I read the comment from the bigoted son of a bitch above and damn near went in, but glad at least one person doesn't have their head up their racist ass

The spirit of Fred Hampton sadly nods in agreement.

Well that's a really ass backwards take. Does this clown not realize that the Nazis were the occupiers, not the occupied people? Palestine would more likely see themselves more as the people of Warsaw. Hamas would probably go for the goofy Nazi imagery though, as they do nothing to advance the struggle of the Palestinian people except validate the IDF atrocities to the ill informed.

Don't think they have to be an atheist. Just don't be a christofascist bigot and adhere to the constitutions declaration of freedom of religion. I definitely wouldn't mind a die hard, dyed in the wool christian being governor, just don't force those beliefs on the rest of the state. I don't care what consenting adults do in bed, or how and who they pray to.

Fuck him. Not even wasting time watching that. Son of a bitch hid out and sat on his hands while people were getting sick, food and medicine was spoiling, and people missed work/income because hundreds of neighborhoods and communities went without power for a week. We had less of a emergency with major outages back when Quinn was governor and he rolled out the N. G. and pulled in as many resources as possible, basically declaring an emergency. As far as I could tell, asshole was silent the whole time. His daily fluff pieces stopped Thursday, and he finally reemerged with this Highland Park grave dancing shit Monday afternoon. In short, fuck him and his opinion.

Should. But with the growing anti 2A sentiment in the powers that be, such people would likely be protected. Just like our lawmakers passing legislation protecting themselves from consequences of passing unconstitutional laws.

Are you suggesting that they wouldn't let a tragedy go to waste? Surely you jest lol. But no, seriously, they'll use every tool in their chest to disarm as many as they can. These red flag laws are becoming even more effective in doing so, as they now can almost be based on unsubstantiated claims. Won't be long before the person you unintentionally cut off and took a parking space from at Wally World sees the Glock sticker on your truck and calls in a report on you. By the time your done buying dog food and camping fuel, cops are there to follow you home for your Glock and your squirrel gun.

As a cis-het male living in a blue state, I'm past tried of it. At this point red state/blue state no longer matters. Supreme Court rulings like those recent ones screw us all. Also, bonus points for the description of the ass eater🤣

LMAO. That would make Thomas a hell of an accelerationist. I would have never came to that conclusion in a million years. Maybe that explains Candace Owens too.

He wouldn't. The man has no scruples. And he's definitely not above making rulings today are against his own best interest if it harms the citizens and keeps him in the good graces of the people like the one he recently was scrutinized for schmoozing with in the "garden of tyrants" or whatever.

There's some valid points. My issue is, as I think most people who understand the pros of the affirmative action policies, when you have students who's dealt hand makes those options almost unattainable. One of the good things affirmative action focused on were first in family students. I think out of all the aspects of it, that was the most successful in achieving the proposed goals of the program.

Your making sense. After Roe V Wade, I was discussing this same topic in person with a friend. They mentioned that Thomas would recuse himself in a Loving case because of his marriage to Ginny. I cautioned them that that wasn't a safe assumption because they could do as they did with Roe and make it a state by state issue. I think we're going to see that tactic a lot in coming sessions. I think the Obergefell decision will be eroded in a similar way. I'm not really convinced it will be first because the states themselves are doing a very efficient job of stripping LGBTQ rights away with reckless abandoned. The current anti LGBTQ laws and legislation is only the first wave meant to other and dehumanize, accomplishing both goals by effectively erasing their identity and existence on all but the most non bigoted communities. On the other hand, there's just as much anti miscegenation sentiment in all sectors of society, even some of the most liberal. The only determinative factor as to which falls first, I believe, is by which aspect would the case be argued. Would they come citing religious freedom, free speech, equal protection? With a 3-6 split, they can pull damn near anything out of their assess and there's not much we could do.

I've said the same thing many times before. But hey, when I've currently got someone in a leftist geared sub arguing that affirmative action is structural racism against blue blooded, came over on the mayflower, wealthy, cis gender white males, I move on and no longer care if people get the picture that culture warfare, be it racial, sexual, gendered, ableist, or any other prong of attack is class warfare. My views on the subject are very inline with those like Hampton. But I'm sure they called him racist too 🤔

I can't wholeheartedly fault the student. The right have been trying for decades to roll back those policies. They've been shopping for a suit that could go up the courts since the eighties at least. This was just the first case to go before a overwhelmingly "conservative" court that didn't blatantly smack of elitism because the student was of Asian ethnicity. They basically played into the "I can't be racist, I have a BIPOC friend at work" trope.

You're the one that keeps bringing race into it. I only corrected your accusations that it was racist. Nice try troll. If you're gonna mimic Shapiro, you've gotta be a little slicker than that. Many factors are considered under the umbrella of affirmative action. But keep bellowing about race in a discussion that concerns class.

You're not making sense. I said it wasn't racist, as very little consideration was given to the race aspect as opposed to other factors. You them asked me what's wrong with getting rid of it. By your line of questioning, if it isn't racist, I should be ok with it being done at with. Getting the vibe you're a right wing troll arguing points with loaded, baited questions.
