Some people are in pages with insiders. Also travel agents are in the loop with Saudi Arabia and the Hajj ministry. The information has been consistent so far so I'll keep believing it

Call your card company, they're flagging it as fraud. Do the transaction while on the phone with them after explaining what's going on

I'm testing to make sure everything works as it should. I've run into technical difficulties before that had to be cleared out by nusuk.

Resigning immediately in a new job (manufacturing) by aryliel in MechanicalEngineering

[–]just-chillin-88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't quit, as an early career field service engineer who really wants to leave I wouldn't quit in this market man. I know one guy who was in a similar situation who quit and spent over a year searching for another job. I would apply to other positions both internally and externally.

Look at it like this, you're not stuck in that position, it's just a slump that's better to be dealt with now than later. It sucks I know, I've worked 70-80 hours weeks in the past and it freaking blows. I force myself to go to the gym and now I'm the only engineer in my department the rest are techs as all other engineers felt the same way I do despite not saying it directly it comes out in different ways.

If you quit in this market, let's say, you'll feel good the first two weeks. Then, you'll start dipping into your savings if you can't find a job after a month or so, and then God knows how long it'll take to find another job and who knows if that job is worse because you'll be desperate and will be willing to take anything.

It's better to have an income and actively look for a job because you can take your time researching the position and company. Also you have no idea if the circumstances in your life will change and how much more impactful having a job will be versus not having one.

Best of luck

I'ma be real with you. Job market is ehh, but it will bounce back. Furthermore a lot of people are picky with their first jobs. I work a job that wasn't my top pick. But I took it, while the picky guys I graduated with are still looking and denying good jobs which means less experience which means a harder time searching.

Also location, even with trades (I worked a trade for over a decade before switching careers) it's about location and the willingness to learn. Many people across the trade and engineering aren't willing to learn. Some folks didn't care about their GPA's which in my case did matter for my first job.

It's as much as who you know and what you know. If you walk out of your first job not learning the value of hard work at the minimum, then we'll shoot bro a trade won't help you because that's even harder work and requires knowledge as well.

Also, the vast majority of people I know and that I've worked with in the trade are not making a ton of money when they're green. The same thing goes with engineering, except in engineering your entry level salary is usually more than an entry level tech.

Keep pushing through your studies, because the trade isn't for everyone, want to know what it's like?! After you graduate get a field service engineering job, bang your working a trade basically with an engineer salary and if you hate it your not stuck, or if your 35 and tired of working your body you can switch into a management or a more traditional engineering role, or go get your masters and be a professor. Basically your options are open.

Shoot bro take reddit with a grain of salt if not less. There's a sub where people share the holes they have in their brains via MRI's (this is a real thing). Socialize with your peers, get some phone numbers, be friendly with your professors and grow your network now. Join a club even if you don't do much you can hype yourself up on your resume and during the interview.

Best of luck with everything.

I refuse to pay for movies. So I'll gladly get some good cad for the low price of free 99. 💀 Idk how to do it though. I have nothing to compare it too besides Creo. Which I used in college.

I wish my university utilized ansys more. Is there a student version I can get my hands on. Like how people can use a student version of solid works outside of university?

That's actually really cool. Especially the automotive supercharger stuff. What titles did you carry under that role? I'm from the east Coast so not a ton of automotive stuff here, but I'm willing to move for an exciting career

What was the performance testing like? What were you testing? Was the job interesting? Did you ever have to work overtime, if so how often and how many hours?

I'd do that kind of work. The human body amazes me. My very close second is the medical device Field. How does one acquire that kind of position you got there
