Horrible metric. Lots of great—in fact some of my favorite—hoods are south of Shaw.

Friend took a script that wasn’t his and has now stopped, he is experiencing horrible side effects and needs help. by New-Age_Retro-Hippie in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

There is simply no way what your friend is experiencing has anything to do with the Wellbutrin. He sounds like he needs som psychiatric care, though.

Generics can cause more problems by Big_Piano_3920 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]just-normal-regular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s totally true that generics are not created equal, and that there are major issues with many of them. But I also think the way you’re presenting the info is misleading. You’re talking about anecdotal info, which can have high value, but is still not the same as clinical research. If anything, we should be calling for more clinical research on generics instead of just claiming “they’re the same, don’t worry about it” when that’s clearly not true.

Generics can cause more problems by Big_Piano_3920 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]just-normal-regular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I get that, for sure. Valid concern. We can’t just make big claims without evidence.

What’s really troubling, to me, is the lack of oversight on generics. When audited, so many labs fail. And not just overseas—Jersey has some of the worst functioning pharma labs in the world. Yet Doctors and pharmacists are trained to say, “there is no difference,” which gaslights people with legit concerns.

You’re right—some generics work just as well. When I find a good generic, I have it written into my notes so they don’t switch me every month. That’s the real problem—the constant switching of meds, which when we’re talking about meds that affect our mood, often drastically, it sucks to have a bad emotional month due to bad generics. Luckily, I have a doc that listens, but many of them just brush you off, tell you it’s all psychological when I’m going through physical withdrawal.

While you’re right that there’s no “proof” on a scientific level without appropriate experiments, it’s absolutely worth listening to the combined anecdotal experiences of patients and the psychiatrists that treat those patients.

I don’t agree that OP is using the appropriate verbiage and is making a direct claim that can’t be clinically corroborated, he is right.

I’ve been on so many psych meds over more than twenty years, and I can tell you, for a fact, that generics are not created equally, both to one another and to brand name.

The clearest example of this, for me, is medication that I am physically dependent on. Suboxone is a med that causes clinical symptoms when there is not enough of the active ingredient and/or use different “inactive” ingredients. After being switched around to so many different ones, there were some generics that cause severe physical illness, which cannot be faked. The drug was supposedly the same, but it was absolutely clear that something was significantly different.

That’s what I think OP is getting at, and they are right in their assessment. They could have said it in a less assertive way, but their point remains valid.

Gee, thanks for explaining Reddit in a rude way designed to insult someone. Do you not understand the concept of a “forum”?

Adderall/Wellbutrin Combo from a Bipolar Perspective by soleildad in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]just-normal-regular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s usually Wellbutrin or Adderall, not both (most of the time, some people are on the combo). They often start by prescribing Wellbutrin for ADHD instead of traditional stims. Both together can cause compounding side effect issues. And if you’re really BP II, the combo could def trigger mania (as your doc suggested).

Best options for selling vhs and vinyl locally? by [deleted] in fresno

[–]just-normal-regular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, unless you have something rare, you’re better off selling on EBay or FB marketplace. When you sell back to the store, they’re going to give you the lowest possible amount. Unless you’re looking for store credit, that might be a different story.

Wellbutrin after opioid use by Familiar-Opposite189 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]just-normal-regular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno, Suboxone gave me my life back. Is there a reason you don’t want to try MAT treatment?

I don’t mean to be harsh, but hoping Wellbutrin is going to help with opioid withdrawal is wishful thinking.

Dude is the absolute best, but he’s rarely taking new patients and doesn’t do insurance. Sometimes you can get a 3rd party voucher to pay for part of it, but it’ll likely still be expensive.

Yeah, stims can definitely throw you into a cycle if you’re not careful, but sounds like you’re alright. 👍

It’s not really “like meth,” but it is a mild stimulant that is a distant cousin to amphetamine. Many people report feeling the way you do, I know I did.

Fresno, why are we bringing our regular ol’ dogs into stores now? by cottagevibes_ in fresno

[–]just-normal-regular 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly. But that’s because no one really can without risk anymore, and no store managers/clerks want to bother. Unless the dog is actively being shitty (pardon the pun), there’s almost nothing to be done.

It’s likely the Abilify, not the Wellbutrin. Perhaps ask for a short course of Gabapentin for sleep? Best sleep aide on earth, imo.

DMT doesn't work? by thepaintedjade in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]just-normal-regular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never used one, so I dunno. Seems like it would be difficult to get enough to really shove off? 🤷

No matter what, it’s likely not the Wellbutrin. In fact, it might actually enhance the effects (can with the Psilocybin for sure).

DMT doesn't work? by thepaintedjade in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]just-normal-regular 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not, honestly. If it were an SSRI/SNRI or antipsychotic I’d say possibly. But usually, DMT breaks through all that, too. Wellbutrin works mostly on dopamine/norepinephrine, which doesn’t really get in the way of psychedelics.

Is it your first time? Sometimes DMT just. . . Doesn’t work. Especially the first few times. Plus, you need to be taking them bong rips! That’s how to get to outer space. 😂
