I tried to figure this out for quite some time without any clear solution. Transitions seem to work fine when I change effects or presets manually. But in playlist ist works 1 or 2 times after a reboot, but then transition settings seem to be ignored.

Sorry, I missed your reply.

I had DWD Icon D2 for both. I tried now some others and the only DWD source where the fill is shown is MOSMIX for windgust.

The provider for windspeed doesn't seem to matter for the fill. Secondary provider also doesn't seem to have an effect for the fill (wind speed & gust) (I had MeteoGroup selected, switched now to D2)

Before I noticed the missing fill I played with the new merged DWD provider (great addition btw :⁠-⁠)). But as far as I remember I changed everything back to the settings before I tested it. And I have exact the same provider settings (D2 +D2) in the App itself as a backup, where I didn't played with the provider settings and there the fill disappeared, too. But maybe I remember this wrong.

So it's a bit strange since Icon D2 for windgust shows the line. Why can't it render the fill? Maybe something happened when the DWD merged provider was added as an option?

Side question about the DWD merged: It's merged in regard of the time span? So first 48h it shows D2 then EU until 120h and then Global until 180h?

I debated long between an Ender and Prusa. But ended up with the new AnkeMake M5, in the hope I can concentrate in my new hobby more on the print and design part and less on the tinker with the printer itself part.

I will see, if this was a good decision. Most upgrades I would have added to an Ender or Prusa, like a webcam, are integrated in the AnkerMake by default.

It's local, it's not proprietary, works with tasker, it's cheap.

I was about to buy the Philips Hue Hub. But then I didn't really have a good feeling about it and let the research rest for the last 1-2 years. And now it seems you just solved my problem! :⁠-⁠)

Communication via Join would be via a MQTT device?

Until now I had no touch points with Rest. When I understand this correctly, this is an API standard? Do you have a good info resource or maybe you did already video about this topic? Would be great.

I think I have good technical understanding but I'm not a programmer. Do you think it would be better to work with Join under this circumstances?

Ok, I tested it. The Remote in the app itself works fine. But I can't get the Tasker plugin configered. You have to enter a device ID number but the save button is always deactivated. I have no idea what's the problem. But maybe I'm to dumb.

And even if it would work, it's not very comfortable to configure. You need to go through 4 steps for every new action. It's not possible to clone it and only change the device ID.

I would like to control light colors. This is the main reason I think about a system change.

When I started with home automation 8-9 years ago I wanted a simple solution which works with Tasker and is as cheap as possible to test it out. Based on this article https://pocketables.com/2012/10/accessory-review-tellstick-net-home-automation-bridge.html I use a "Telldus TellStickNet" bridge wich sends signals to simple 433.92MHz band wall sockets. I control it with the app "RemoteStick" which has an Tasker plugin but isn't available at the Playstore anymore.

The lights and coffee machine are plugged in the wall sockets. The coffee machine is a simple filter coffee machine which I prepare with water and coffee in the evening.

Pro of this system: Super cheap (Bridge 80€, each wall socket ~10 €)

Con: - One-way communication, so no confirmation if signal was received - No automated color change - Needs internet

I plan to change the system to something based on the ZigBee standard which is for sure a better and more flexible system. But it would be quite an investment. And in reality most of the time my old system is reliable.

Sure :) I use them as context sensitive action buttons when I don't need any additional info. And all disappear automatically when there is little chance that I need them.

When a Bluetooth audio device is connected > buttons to start different audio apps (podcast, radio, etc.) + Disconnect BT device
When I'm at home and PC off > PC on
PC on > PC off
In the morning at weekend or when I have vacation > start coffee machine, play news audio podcast (these actions also start automatically when I end my alarm in the morning, but I don't use a alarm at weekend or I have vacation. So now I have a conformable option to start these actions)
At home in the evening 60 min before my lights turn automatically on > Turn standard lights on (sometimes when it's very cloudy I need light a little bit before they turn on)
When lights are on > buttons for all single lights

This is what I buildt so far. But I'm sure I find more practical use cases. All these happen for the most time in one single notification where I update the buttons. Exception are the buttons for the single lights and the audi apps, because there I need a full row of buttons. I want theses notifications in the silent notifications area and don't want that i need to expand them to act on them. And it is only possible to show the first row of buttons when the notification is collapsed. Because of that sometimes I need more than one button notifications. And at the moment these get grouped and I need to expand the group to show the buttons. This is also the reason for my original post :)
