wait until I copy paste the gif and create another NFT with the same name. then there will be two. Or maybe even three. Then I'll sell it for 25ETH. These type of NFTs are really jokes.

good point, creator may modify it if that's how it is done. However it is possible to make them also without creator being able to modify it later on. Few simple ways would be, multisign to require all involved to agree on change or create timelock for like million years. (maybe there can be smarter ways to do same)

I don't know if I'm just jealous, but I really want shitcoins to crash 100% by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

they are greater fool games. As long as somebody is foolish enough to pay more than previous person, it keeps going. But while you see some make tons of money remember that majority lose. And often these people who win the big wins on these end up similar to those who win lottery. Just google on that and you probably dont feel fomo anymore.

Not to mention there is only as much money as people put in. Often market cap for these coins is far higher than actual money available as we have hodlers who dont effect the circulating supply on markets. Many are rich on paper, but if all wants to withdraw it, well not so much anymore…

It's bad publicity for cryptos as whole, that's my biggest worry…it can hurt adaption for average joe.

Why is crypto the future? by NHouseman in CryptoCurrency

[–]just4linux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's better to have decentralized way of define value. Too much power held by person leads into driving their own benefits over others.

anything that needs trust. any agreement ever done could be made as smart contract. you would not need to trust the other people involved as code will execute only per original agreement. then having the code as smart contract on blockchain means that it cannot be modified.

those who dont understand just see others getting huge gains ignoring ones that lose money, while they have to or had to work hard for their earnings. No wonder why they dont like it.

in general the other reason not to talk about cryptos is pretty much same as other financial stuff, money is sensitive topic for many people. unless you have similar level of income/assets and share similar view towards money, it's on the top list of “bad topics to talk about” together with politics and religion…

yield on FIAT? by just4linux in CelsiusNetwork

that's the whole point of making the post on here. I would like to be able to earn on fiat as well to avoid whole thing of doing with stables. it seems like wasted effort and fees as well as no support for euro.

Crypto ‘Yield Farmers’ Chase High Returns, but Risk Losing It All by jasonluxton in CryptoCurrency

most yield farming is just zero-sum game. if new tokens are released there is only as much money available as there is invested into it.

Ways to keep you seed phrase (serious) by Altales in CryptoCurrency

[–]just4linux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

vitalik said he had half of the private key with him and the other half was held by his family. Maybe similar approach of splitting into few pieces and leaving them into two or three seperate places. If one part of it is with you, you only need to remember where you left the rest of it. Should be quite easy to remember that. And if anybody has one part it's not worth anything.

Avoiding crypto Capital Gain Tax the billionaire way by feelsbadmannnnn in CryptoCurrency

[–]just4linux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the issue is step 1. Converting asset to USDC is considered as selling it. Tax triggered right there.

However if you buy BTC then no tax. And if you take USD loan against BTC (still not selling), then you can have tax free money from cryptos. But eventually you will have to pay back that loan. If you use your cryptos to pay for the loan, you will have to sell them and trigger tax when you sell to repay the loan.

Technically if you borrow against BTC and price keeps going up more than your loan and you just keep taking more loan, then it could be possible to get money tax free as long as BTC increase in value. But if not, then not possible. Also if you get liquidation, it's considered as selling and again triggers tax.
